Spitfire Audio's London Contemporary Orchestra Textures is a unique virtual instrument that delves into the realm of evolving and unconventional orchestral sounds. Building on their acclaimed London Contemporary Orchestra Strings library, this collaboration with the LCO offers a rich palette of textures created through experimental techniques and a distinctive recording environment. It's designed to provide composers and producers with innovative sonic material for film scoring, game audio, and modern music production.

This library is a testament to Spitfire Audio's commitment to pushing the boundaries of sampling. Instead of traditional articulations, LCO Textures focuses on organic, evolving soundscapes. The sounds were meticulously recorded in a decommissioned aircraft hangar in Suffolk, England, a space renowned for its incredible 10-second reverb tail. This unique acoustic environment imbues every note with an extraordinary sense of space and resonance. The LCO, known for their innovative approaches to performance and composition, contributed their signature workshopping process, leading to the creation of over 100 never-before-sampled, dynamically controllable articulations.

LCO Textures is organized into four distinct "texture palettes": Ethereal, Mercurial, Quantum, and Astral. Each palette features unique combinations of instruments, including strings, percussion, and classical singers, often blended with less common sound sources like bowed harp or crystal glasses. This curated approach ensures that each texture is not merely a single instrument but a complex, evolving sound construction. The library leverages Spitfire Audio's proprietary Evo Grid technology, allowing users to effortlessly blend and manipulate these evolving textures across various key ranges, generating a vast array of sonic possibilities. This makes it an ideal tool for creating atmospheric pads, unsettling backdrops, and captivating sonic narratives that evolve over time.
