Hello,
What are the best ways to gain stage Shreddage 2 in connection with amp sims?
Setting the gain to let's say -18db within Kontakt? (That could work but also might sound a bit weak).
Setting the track gain within your DAW? Set the gain only on the master bus?
Is it even necessary to gain stage Shreddage 2?
Any suggestions to get the most out of the raw Shreddage 2 output?
Many, many questions I know...
Thanks for your input!

You don't really ever need to mess with the internal volume slider within Shreddage. You can, but not recommended unless you know what you're doing.
I recommend fixing up the volume on the mixer area of your daw instead.
Gain staging is more context-dependent. Not really a Shreddage thing, more of a general mixing thing. See what fits that particular song or couple of songs (for the sake of consistency).
