when starting playback in logic pro 7.2.1, any zebra 2 note that is directly under the SPL (song position line) is not played. for example if there is a note at 1.1.1.1 and a note at 1.1.2.1, and playback starts at 1.1.1.1, the first note is not played. if i move the SPL just a tad before, for example 0.4.4.1 in this example, the note is played.

confirmed on two different computers/setups.

it does not happen in logic express 7.1.1

btw, the same problem was present with Kontakt 2 (NI fixed it in 2.1.1).

this happens independently of the pre-roll setting in logic (it does not matter if this is on)

using latest beta (the one linked in this thread, august 3), latest osx

I think this is related to 16 samples latency that Zebra2 reports to the host. Logic 7.2 seems to just swallow that note because it would have to send the note-on 16 samples ahead of time.

Same with notes at the beginning of selected regions.

That's a big bugger. I'm gonna contact Apple about it, I think it's something they shall fix.

Cheers,

;) Urs

That's a horrible bug of LogicPro.....depending on the situation it even happens with Logic-SoftSynths...it's just super-annoying when you have to go back half a bar to hear every note on the "one".....shouldn't happen in a pro app..... :-(
