even if I dont' use factory presets for compressors, I do always make my own presets.
thanks, just a suggestion.

That's really impressive. I've seen CLA really abuse guitars and vocals in his WAVES videos (20dB gain reduction? No problem!), yet anytime I try that, it sounds really bad.
Haven't recorded vocals for a while, but if I can use Presswerk as demonstrated here, I can finally stop looking for THE vocal compressor.

Yes, and they'll get more options over time. We can finally work on some feature requests from way back...rod_zero wrote:So the new midi mapping and settings pages are comming to the rest of u-he plug ins?

Just wondering if you guys have any plans on offering even more flexibility by:
1) making the soft clip margin moveable, so that signals lower than 0dbfs could be shaved off
2) adding more colours to the saturator

Not necessary - that would be the same as increasing the signal level (unless I need more coffee this morning!)garry_spectrum wrote:1) making the soft clip margin moveable, so that signals lower than 0dbfs could be shaved off

I personally like fool-proof designs, products that still behave nice and predictable even when you twist parameters to extremes. The saturation stages are an integral part of this philosophy. So each one has a certain pre-selected behaviour.
The output soft clip ensures the signal does not exceed 0dBFS, thus its limiting value must stay the same (convergence towards -1.0 and 1.0 float).
The curve roundness is pretermined (similar to a tanh), hence limiting occurs way below 0dBFS. Making this selectable means having arbitrary curve shapes, which is more complex - read: needs more CPU. It's also not been in the design focus, since the pre- and post-compression stage of the plugin can do quite a lot already. This stage also has a fixed curve shape, which is mainly because we think it's got the right sweet spot between perceptible volume, crunch and tonal roundness.
