While listening to your piece, DubStation was the first one that came to mind. It doesn't have an LFO, but sounds to me like you were tweaking the time by hand, which reminded me of my old analog pedal and DS is the VST that sounds like it the most, in fact, it sounds almost identical. The loop and reverse really adds to the spaciness. It doesn't have a demo, but I've never heard a single negative thing about it and Audio Damage is a great company. I'd have two freebies to recommend, but both are Win only :[

but Dubstation really is a thing of beauty 8)

After reading Moogerfooger's manual

I think that you won't be able to find an exact replacement.

The closest you could get is with BBD emulating delays, such as Nomad Factory's.

I also recommend fabfilter timeless 2 for trippyness but may be overcomplicated for your needs.

Tal Dub 2 is a nice freebee with everything Moog has. http://kunz.corrupt.ch/Products/TAL-Dub

Or for an old software delay is Lexicon PSP42. You may be able to get one second hand in the market place http://www.pspaudioware.com/plugins/del ... on_psp_42/

I've a few and H-Delay is excellent...

PSP tape Delay is nice too.

You need Loomer Shift! http://www.loomer.co.uk/shift.htm

Dubstation might be good indeed. I must add that if you would consider H-Delay, you should definitely wait for it to go on sale. Waves has sales all the time and I believe it was $50 not too long ago, so it pays to have a little patience.

One thing the MF-104 can do that hasn't been covered yet: process delay repeats through an external FX loop. EQ or filter is the obvious choice and many delay plugins will do this already, but mod FX like chorus or phaser also work well.

You'll need to set this up in your host - not sure if Studio One allows feedback loops between aux busses. Otherwise a plugin like VST Forx or Bidule would work.

Peace,
Andy.

Why hasn't any developer really done this yet? I am not asking for a modular vst plugin hosting implementation, but just a separate feedback section with the ability to pick and choose some built in effects to be added in to the feedback path. Something with more than just drive/filters and chorus mod.

Nice for sure, but the mod section doesn't seem to do what I'd expect, especially the 'Rate', maybe I don't get it. Tweaking the rate (Delay) by hand also doesn't behave like how an analog delay would and the sound breaks. The first version (TAL-Dub) does replicate this behavior plus has a screaming filter and can do left and right independently for a nice stereo effect. Definitelly worth a try.

Fxpansion Bloom has several different routing options that include some effects in the feedback loop. It also has a very dreamy bucket brigade analog delay model.

If you really want to mess with feedback loops, modular software like Reaktor is the way to go.

DubStation is great. I also like GSi GS-201 and Watkat.

You can do feedback routing in Ableton Live by routing the sends back into themselves. Great fun, Ive used it in a tune.

Every Return channel has Sends to route it to the other Returns.
So just route Return A into Return B and B into A and there you go, tweak the Send pots to taste and drop in your effects.

Just stick a brickwall on your Master Channel.

Im sure Fruity should be able to do this and probably most other hosts

Wanted to give you guys an update. Here is what I demo'd and ended up doing at this point:

Bloom- Nice but didn't jump out at me so much. Overkill features for me.

OhmBoyz- Ok, just didn't sound that special.

IkTape Echo- Not what I was looking for exactly, but pretty good for what it is but extremely limited. Hate the demo method of the static coming in so frequently. Not a fan of IK Multimedia at this point. Overall negatives weren't enough to make me buy.

Timeless 2- Really liked this one and got some great results. But expensive and saw it was 50% off earlier this year. If it were that price now I would've bought it.

Echoboy- Also really liked this one. Can see how you can use it in so many ways and would get used often. In the end, too expensive for me at the moment and while fantastic all around I didn't feel like I had to have it at the moment.

Dubstation- Had to buy it to demo it, but the money back guarantee thing made it ok to do so. Nice, immediate results. Limited, but pretty much what I was looking for. Not as slick as Echoboy or Timeless, but a much better value since it's so cheap. Going to keep this one.

So, that's where I'm at to this point. I guess if Timeless ever did another half off sale in the future I'd seriously consider it. Or if I had some healthy funds wanting a more every day delay I'd also look into Echoboy. Welcome to any other suggestions, and thanks for all your help!
