Don't listen to him: by his own admission he wrote several hundred songs in Tracktion, and since he switched to eXT he hasn't been able to finish anything.. :P

:uhuhuh: I've been using Sonar for something like one and a half years (before that Magix Midi Studio but it didn't satisfy my needs) and then switched to Tracktion because Sonar didn't satisfy my needs anymore and kept on using Tracktion for nearly one and a half years again but then it didn't satisfy my needs anymore so I switched to eXT - I'm not always jumping back and forth - up to now it has always been a steady improvement - I have been a Podium beta-tester b.t.w. and it is really very promising and has a fantastic concept... - but I use eXT instead because eXT is the dog's bollox :-D

Impressive use of vernacular, even if you are factually incorrect! Not bad for a hun! :hihi:

I guess that's because he doesn't really know what a great and inexpensive alternative it is...

b.t.w.: why fighting against the stream? - Jorgen will get you all sooner or later anyway! :hihi:

What does it add to Tracktion that I can't add with Synthedit then?

I think I should do a short list :hihi::

- folder tracks

- ghosted clips

- mutable clips

- usable track freezing freezing

- multi-channel audio-tracks

- audio loop-recording (yes, I know I know T2 - but when it comes out eXT will be able to wake me in the morning and after it prepared my breakfast :hihi:)

- automation clips with support for presets(which can easily be used as LFO's)

- built-in arpeggiator

- dockable vsti's

- vsti-search function

- browser with support for drag and drop

- it's skinable

- beat-slicing

- fantastic built-in sampler

and a lot more... :-D

that'S the only big thing which is still missing but:
jorgen wrote: Right now the audio track has a master channnel which all audio events in the track is routed to. What would be cool is optional sub channnels (add sub-channel on popup menu per track) with inserts/send/mute/solo that audio clips can be routed thru before the signal goes to the track master chanel.

Since audio tracks now can be frozen, doing more mixing inside the track would help a lot on the cpu. Like when programing drums, you could stuff the track with lots of fx...and of course, fx per clip...

and when Jorgen writes this it means he really will implement it - and he will do it the same year and maybe even in a real forthnight... :hihi:
