I just installed the Audition tryout.. it has no RMS normalise option!?! Anyone confirm that, or did I just miss it? Bollocks, back to Soundforge..
use the edit > group waveform normalize command ... it IS based on RMS ... the normalize option under the effects menu is peak based as you surmise ...

i use scripts occasionally but havent tried the group normalise in one TBH ...

... but no need surely ??? just select all the files you want to normalise and drag them (as a group) onto the audition GUI ... if you then go to group normalise you can select any or all of the .wavs currently loaded into audition and normalise them as a batch ...

... hope that makes sense ???

Yeah, makes perfect sense.. unfortunately (if we get the job) the client has 6000 full length mp3s which need processing, then re-encoding, with further batches in future as he licenses them: so I really need a proper batch script.. Never mind, I can do it in Soundforge. Thanks! :)

How long do you think I will need to wait before Tracktion grows batch processing then?

:hihi:
