AHA!! Good job I asked, thanks mate! I'm impressed so far actually.. might have to see if the boss will buy it for me!pHz wrote:use the edit > group waveform normalize command ... it IS based on RMS ... the normalize option under the effects menu is peak based as you surmise ...platinumears wrote:I just installed the Audition tryout.. it has no RMS normalise option!?! I can't seem to be able to include the group normalise in one..pHz wrote:use the edit > group waveform normalize command ... it IS based on RMS ... the normalize option under the effects menu is peak based as you surmise ...platinumears wrote:I just installed the Audition tryout.. it has no RMS normalise option!?! i use scripts occasionally but havent tried the group normalise in one TBH ...platinumears wrote:err.. do you use scripts at all? I can't seem to be able to include the group normalise in one..
... but no need surely ??? just select all the files you want to normalise and drag them (as a group) onto the audition GUI ... if you then go to group normalise you can select any or all of the .wavs currently loaded into audition and normalise them as a batch ...
... hope that makes sense ???

Yeah, makes perfect sense.. unfortunately (if we get the job) the client has 6000 full length mp3s which need processing, then re-encoding, with further batches in future as he licenses them: so I really need a proper batch script.. Never mind, I can do it in Soundforge. Thanks!pHz wrote:i use scripts occasionally but havent tried the group normalise in one TBH ...platinumears wrote:err.. do you use scripts at all? I won't hold my breath! Plus point: I now have SoundForge7 licensed on my (new) computer!
