If you look in the midi-cc menu (under type), any active-cc will be colored green. You should see two entries in green.. one for cc#0, and the other for cc#32.. indicating that they have values set. Does that help?
Yep...thats it. Thanks. Good...that means I only need 1 clip I think.

Ok....back to the drawing board to see if I can GET THIS.

You're the only person I know of who has ever tried using Tracktion's MIDI in this way.
I can't believe nobody else uses external multi-timberal synths!
Proteus?
ROland JVxxxx?
Yamaha Motif?

NOBODY????

I'm sure they do. But not with Tracktion. ;) Serious synth users were put of by Tracktion 1's non-syncing ages ago, so it'll take a while for them to come around.

You get to be the first.

I'm sure some users use those synths AND Tracktion, but they just didn't expect them to interact with Tracktion in the same seamless way you do. :D External support was one of T1's Achilles heels, so users of such gear settled for other workarounds ages ago. ;)

Not a pleasant distinction.

So I noticed in the "Insert Program" page lots of "unnamed" patches (associated with the MidiChanneliser Plug-in). Seems like a REALLY convenient spot for the patch names in my JV1010 (among others).

It said something about import FXB file. A Google and KVR search resulted in nothing helpful...

Any suggestions down this path?

I ask becuase I noticed the Program line in the clip was changing the program in my synth when I dragged it up & down, and the "UnNamed" patch name kept appearing but no place to edit it....

Lunch,

I'm considering using T2 in the same way Jaz is (thanks Jaz for being my guinea pig). In fact, one reason...the main reason...I've been eagerly awaiting T2 was the MTC stuff. I don't know, though, that I need the seemless interaction that Jaz is calling for (especially since I have yet to buy that XV5080 I've been lusting after...in fact, I may not buy it since there are so many great soundfonts our there).

Jaz, you go dude! Sounds like you're almost there. I can't guarantee this, but I'm betting your workflow will be well rewarded if you get T2 to work for you (even with a few cumbersome workarounds...'cause Sonar, though powerful, ain't smooth and easy! ;) )

Nah, horrible things! :hihi:

I do use bank select messages regularly though: how many banks do you use on your synth? If its a relatively small number of favourites that you switch between, maybe you could prepare small MIDI files containing nothing but the cc0 and cc32 controllers: you could then simply import the relevant MIDI clip when you need a bank change, and move it to the appropriate place..

Ok, I can live with that...Matter of fact I've already been tryin that in my own bumbling, Lennie-from-"Of Mice And Men"-way....Duh....squish! :dog:

Thanks for the help.
