re: mono/stereo - no it's stereo pairs i'm using - with the pulsar I have my 'analog out l+R' & my 'merge out l+R'. So in this situation i would have the rewired track on track 1 dsending out to the merge, then on track 2 the merge going in - when i record on this track it would record whatever audio is playing on the rewire track1. (does that make sense? - if i were at home i'd screenshit it).

OK, that sounds more like my new interface, so could work well on my home setup.

I'll add it to my list of things to try out today!!

Cheers

lol - edit that 'screenshot', not 'screenshit'.

Hi again, and thanks again too!

My comment to braj before was based on T1.6 + R2.5. I never tried Live 4 within Tracktion (simply because I never had a context where this seemed like a good idea) but now I'm gonna have to try it out for myself! Thanks for the heads up.

(ps, the controller mapping still doesn't work here :( )

Regarding Acid, I want a cross-platform solution, so my workflow is the same on Mac and PC and if I choose a Mac to replace my desktop anytime soon, I won't have to rethink the whole deal. Anyway, I'm certain there is a way to make it work. Sometimes I like loops just because I want to see what a conga line (for example) would sound like with a tune and programming it with a drum VST just to demo it is a bit of work. So a lot of stuff I will use loops for won't even make it into a tune, but are more like compositional tools.

It has always worked for me, even before T2 and not only with Live, with Reason to. I do it all the time.

OK, I just inserted a new audio clip on the track, the audio clip said it was blank, and successfully froze the track. That works for me. Pretty easy, and I can make use of Live and T. I'm happy with that. I imagine render works in the same way.

How are you doing that?

In T2 when you click to Render a track (in track properties) it tells you there is a "Demo Restriction" and that you can't render tracks until you have registered. So how did you test it?

In T1, when you have a sequencer done in Reason or Live (i.e. no MIDI clip in Tracktion itself), when you click to Render and add a message comes up which reads "there are no clips in this track to render".

Press "G" to create a blank MIDI clip: no more message! ;)

Never tried it in T2, just assumed it would work the same.

Like I said, add an empty MIDI clip of the same duration as your sequence in Reason or Live to the track in Tracktion. Hit render. Voila

Thanks! I didn't think to add a blank MIDI clip as a workaround. :dog: Good solution though 8)

Ooops - missed that / didn't click! Anyway, a good solution. Thanks pHz!
