That is very welcome ! :)

They are thin and sound as if they come from the nose.
From the nose...?
One take was ment to sound like that, but the others not.
Thin ? What is your definition of thin ?
Not enough bass, different speaker simulation ?
Please explane !
AndrewSimon wrote: The dirty sounds are much better but I have not heard any demos of the sound I am looking for.
That is a fat overdriven tube sound with some distortion but not too much.
Then please send me an mp3 with the sound you are looking for, "AND" the dry version of the same take !
I will see how close I can get to that sound then. ;)

OK good. Just wanted to be sure it is useful. 8)

I'm not at all impressed with the 'clean' examples, they sound like they're just going thru an eq. But I know it's really hard to use other peoples examples, the best thing is to play it yourself and dial in a tone that suits your playing style and guitar. So far I haven't heard an example of someone using a Gibson Les Paul or an SG. I always use a preamplifier when I'm using amp plugins, if I don't it sounds thin and brittle even though I'm using humbuckers. Imagine a single coil Strat directly into the soundcard... :-o

New track heavy distortion !

Eat this ! (if you can...):hihi:

Sorry, no clean version this time thanks to Microsoft crashing Explorer...
This is my answer to the "thin" sound !
(Yes, here I tweaked quite a bit.)

Couldnt even clean the track up, sorry...

Enjoy !

Hi Midiworks,

this new heavy track is kinda OK, except the low resonance prob. On the one hand it's not really fat but on the other hand it's too boomy. Seems to be related to the player/guitar.

All the best, FRitz

too much broom, and i think distortion is little weak, but not bad at all.

you may check my example (simulanalog+mda+dist)

Not sure if anyone's asked or if this has been answered anywhere but does this ampsim include oversampling? It seems to make a huge difference in a lot of distortion plug-ins.
I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

This still isn't over-the-top chunkiness, but I DO detect a certain... er... I don't even know how to describe it... kerrrang! that most guitar amp sims don't have, which makes my ears perk up. ;)

The low resonance prob(at the end) is due to the fact that I couldnt clean the track up, switched at the end to the wrong cab, sorry....

Too much broom, depends on your speakers I'd guess...
Distortion is a little weak ?
Sure I can turn up more, but does that makes sense ?
I personally think its more than enough...

Oversampling?
This is a amp sim, not a synth.
The signal is going through stages of boosters and EQs.
Alaising does not happend here, like with osc's for exemple.
I dont think it will make any difference here if an
EQ/Filter is oversampled or not,
but I will give it a try anyway. ;)

I am NOT 100% happy with "Eat this ! (if you can...)"
It is missing the upper "clang" for me,
but I'll get there ! :)

I'm sorry man, I know you've worked long & hard, but that sounds like crap.

:?

Post

Hi Sickle,
I really wonder why you say that... Can you please be more specific ?

The amp settings are always the same, only the cabs change the sounds.

The new "eat this" demo is sounding quite better than the older one, which I found to be too boomy too. Still, I think to make a judgement, one needs to actually play with this - I allways "autoadjust" my playing following the amp response.
There are 3 kinds of people:
Those who can do maths and those who can't.

Actually, both are the same files...
Only added the dry and cut away the bad cab.
