I have no use for all of the extra plug-ins that have been advertised with T2. The are either redundant or unnecessary in my setup. I would like to be able to simply purchase an unlock code for the demo as with T1. And receive a discount over the version that will ship with all the superfluous software. I have no need for another box, for another stack of unused CDs, etc. It's the 21st century, I should be able to buy my software online. Especially if it's less than 10 MB.

The full bundled version (all 3rd party plugs) will not be available for download. You'll need to go to a brick-and-mortar or virtual store to get the full version (boxed and beautiful). Too much stuff inside, and authorization for the various plugs necessitates this (no flames or lectures on internet authorization technologies please).
There will be a "zero thrid-party plug" upgrade which is simply authorizing the T2 demo. This will be for registered T1 users only.

There are two seperate issues here. Should there be a download available for purchase - yes yes yes - lets not waste paper and gas. Should there be a discount for a version not including the plugs? Not necessarily - I think $150 is a fair price for T, most of the plugs are very cheap, and we don't know if Mackie saves anything by not including them.

Cakewalk, Nuendo, DP, Logic...You can't download the full versions.
Download the upgrade as a registered user? Yes.
T2 is 1GB with all the bundles. As far as "cheap" bundles go...RMIV, Slayer/Instrument, SampleTank, Amplitube LE...these are real plugs and cost real money to buy on the street, and real money to include with T2.
New T2 folks will get a box with 3CDs, a 50-page user's guide, licenses for all software/bundles...it's very nice.
You can still save gas by ordering it online (your gas, trucking/shipping company gas is another story)

Thanks - just what I wanted (assuming the download upgrade only version will not be as expensive - I really don't need the extra stuff)dernil wrote:The full bundled version (all 3rd party plugs) will not be available for download. I'd guess you would have the unlock code, or would need to get it from Mackie by registering. I would think the version you install by CD would be the same as the demo and need to be unlocked in the same way. So I would think you could just unlock the demo with the code from the box.Warmonger wrote:If I buy a boxed copy of T2, will I also be able to download it from the Mackie site? This probably sounds like an odd question, but I don't have T1, and I usually prefer downloading over using a CD.

The install process will point you to your Mackie account to obtain the latest version of T2 and to obtain your keyfile. So yes, your MyMackie account will have a download available.

THANK YOU!!! for the info Dernil.
Fair enough.
last question: will T1 users be able to get the full (boxed) version at an upgrade price?
