A fair statement I suppose. I didn't expect it to be free in the first place, but since they actually did offer it, even as a clever marketing tool, they really need to follow up on it. That's just wise business practice. Don't blame the NFR license owners for a piece of marketing hype. Get over it.platinumears wrote: You got far more than you deserve already (ie; a completely unrestricted copy of T1)
You know, that's just an atrociously arrogant attitude. It's self righteous. Even though a nice upgrade path was hinted at in these forums, did you know it would be $20? It could just as easily have been $80. I believe that a price tag of $199 retail was bandied around for a while, but actually, nobody outside of Mackie knew. Indeed, it seems that they didn't make that decision until it was released proper. If you have a problem with the NFR issue, maybe you should take it up with Mackie and not call us 'freeloaders'. Get off the cross mate.If you had a tiny bit of sense you might have realised that T1 owners would get a better upgrade deal than NFR freeloaders.. even without the clues we have been given on this forum.
Hey, I still like the software and strangely enough, I would purchase it if the option was easily available to me. But I think it's regressive to not offer a downloadable version to everyone. There are, as has been stated numerous times, some common issues for foreign users. We don't get the rebate and to make matters worse, we have no option but to buy a boxed version. In all honesty, I don't expect my local store will know about it at all, or offer it for less than $200 to me. That's money I just don't have.If you had a bit more sense, you might have chosen to support the developer of this amazing package by paying his (very modest) asking price even though it wouldn't actually un-lock any features in the short term, but to encourage development and show support..
Why don't you just boot up your copy of T2 and make some music yourself instead of acting like a righteous defender of code?
Anyway, as far as this thread goes, I think $100 would be a fair price for a lite version to all concerned. So, here's my name to the idea.
Of course, I doubt it will happen, since they need to sell so many boxed copies to make their software bundle buddies happy. I wish them luck, but unless they change their marketing strategy I don't really see Tracktion being a big contender internationally. Boxed product sales are tough and economically inefficient.
