Have you tried T2 yet? Is it still the same? I've never noticed that happen, but its some time since I had T1 installed..

If you have it running with scroll off the cursor will go off screen. Maybe he is doing this and as it plays he wants to move the clip.

I have done this in T1 without any problems with jumping.

However, it will jump to the cursor if, in the options settings you have return to starting position enabled.

There is a setting in the options area to "return to starting position when play resumes" (or something like that). Look to see if you have that checked.
I have had some strange behavior before and it turned out to be this.

same problem (from time to time) here on mac

Thanks PT, that solved my clip jumping problem. It still seems to me to be a bug though.

...and platinumears, I don't intend to mess with T2 until I get a little more experience with T1 at least.

Post

yes, it only happens with "return on" and yes that is a bug.

Post

yup, confirmed. only happens when "return to starting position" is checked.

Looks like I've got the same problem in T2, though never noticed it in T1. I'm using XPHome SP1, so it's not a Mac problem. Like the others, I zoom in, try to move a clip, clip disappears and the screen goes back to wherever the cursor is. If I zoom out and move the cursor to where the clip is, then zoom in again, the cursor goes back to where it was, along with the screen, when I try to move the clip. Sheesh. Wouldn't one of those extra-wide plasma screens be just the dingo's danglers.
I'm using the AVG video chip built into my motherboard and I'm wondering if that might be the problem. If I can scrounge a video card from somewhere I'll bung it in and see if it mskes any difference and post back.

I was having the same problem yesterday (T2) while trying to adjust the end points on some clips.
