What does that mean? Does Sampletank hang the Mac version? Do you wish the Mac version supported ASIO real time priority so you could turn it off? Do you wish Macs supported ASIO cards? Do you have a problem you need a hand with? Or do you just want to be knee-jerk negative all the f**king time even when people are f**king trying to help?
I'm getting a bit fed up with people moaning and moaning and moaning while being apparently incapable of offering anything of worth back to the community ...

Oooh, get him! Get him!! HEY EVERYBODY!! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!!! (**crowd begins to chant along in unison**) WE WANT BLOOD! WE WANT BLOOD!
I'm getting a bit fed up with people that give a virtual beat-down to anybody that dares to offer a less than rosy opinion of Tracktion.

The one nice surprise for me was that Real Time Priority Mode can be set to ON in T2 with Sample Tank.
In T1 it freezes the computer.
I am on PC.

Here's a related? problem - in Tracktion 1
.
I find that in some circumstance I cannot re-open an Edit containing an SampleTank2 filter. Instead, the mouse pointer changes to the hourglass and the PC freezes, the keyboard and mouse are unresponsive and I have to reboot it (Ctrl-Alt-Del doesn't work, I have to turn off the power).
I have double-checked and the infamous Use Realtime Priority Mode is off.
Case 1:
- Open the project, then the edit containing ST2, work away quite happily, Save the Edit,
- return to Projects page and select the same Edit again - PC freezes.
If, before selecting the Edit with ST2 the second time, I select another Edit not containing ST2, I can then open the ST2-edit again.
Case 2:
- Open the project, then the edit containing ST2, work away quite happily, Save the Edit,
- return to Projects page and create a new Edit, add an ST2 filter, work away quite happily, Save the Edit
- I can now return to the Projects page, select, open either Edit successfully or open the same Edit several times in a row.
Case 3:
- Open the project, then the edit containing ST2, work away quite happily, Save the Edit,
- Close T
- Re-open T, select the same Edit containing ST2, PC freezes,
(but not always; sometimes it worked OK, and once this freeze happened after I restarted my PC and only then re-opened T)
Case 4:
If I change the audio driver from ASIO to DirectSound then I do not have the problems.

[guesswork]
To my amateur mind, it seems like some sort of "exclusive use" lock-up problem, possibly involving the ASIO driver. I understand that (most) ASIO drivers are single client - perhaps the access is not always being released in time/properly, so that next time round access is prevented.
Mind you, this does not explain the problem surviving a reboot (unless the access is controlled by entries in the Registry??)
[/guesswork]
I emailed IK Multimedia some time ago, but have not received any reply.
I don't know if this is relevant, but at one stage during testing this, I got a fatal error "SampleTank2 has caused an internal error . . . (Context: dispatcher (24, 0, 674512, 9c100c0, 0, 000000)" I clicked Cancel.
Does this happen to anyone-else?
Any ideas how to resolve it?

Telling you, that ST2 (included with the program?) doesn't work, makes me a bitchAD80 wrote:Nothing works on "Mac" apparently. You seem to be bitching about something on every other thread. Stop being a biotch.DHR53 wrote:Too bad that doesn't work on the Mac...

Really, I was consdering the SR group buy, but before I spend $399 I wanted to see if I could use it in T... Since there seems to be no "official" word on whether this will work, will be fixed, is broken, etc. I'm left in sort of a quandry... Now, I know the Mac is of no itnterest to you, but maybe someone at Mackie who does care about the "other" Tracktion users... could comment on this

I Love This Place!!!!!
Just Joined. Just installed T2 (never used T1) all seemed to pretty well (with the help of this and the Mackie forums). This SampleTank Freeezzz had me stumped. And to think it was a simple click...
Preciate it!

Yes. disable RTPM and no more freez.
However, I did some extensive recording with sample tank and some drum loops. I added only one track of live guitar. Guitar track was kinda choppy, seemed to jump. Two tracks of sample tank Bass and some synth, no problems. I then tried to use the guitar VST "slayer" and got major pops/clicks. Completly unable to use it.
7 drum tracks (.wav loops)
2 sample tank tracks
These were sweet. the live track was choppy and not so sweet. wonder what's up with that?
