Dont you think this is a little extreme?DHR53 wrote:Then he said: you obviously didn't read my reply: f**k you!Your reply didn't say Tracktion won't export 24 bit wave files did it... No!

"It seems that some apps can import Tracktion aiffs others can't" — Valley
Once again now... did I say I imported this file into anything? I said I PREVIEWED it in the finder... Now had I imported it into Logic, before I posted on this forum, I would have said that. And his comment would have made me try it in another app... As it was, previewing it in the Finder is a quick way to check any MP3 or wav/aif files... and I do it often. And at no time have I ever previewed a file in the finder, that wouldn't play in a Mac based DAW...
End of story...

A bug has been submitted and I suggest we drop the subject.

There's the level-headed, intelligent response I was hoping for.AD80 wrote:Drop the subject?? f**k YOU!braj wrote:A bug has been submitted and I suggest we drop the subject.

hmmm - I have been exporting 24 bit aiffs in osX - itunes sees them ok - I didn't try previewing them in the finder.
DH: It is not nice to curse at Valley for trying to get at the bottom of the problem. Checking to see if there is a workaround is standard operating procedure and we would all gain by the information. be cool.

That was probably what I was trying to think of!
Thanks semiquaver.

yes, DHR53, you're making a very interesting series of arguments but instead of trying to convince everyone that the finder is not an application, how about you actually try a different app? so far none of your posts suggest you trying anything other than logic. just try something before you carry on your disgusting rage against valley
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

Do Logic and DSP Quatro qualify as "other apps" to you... I can load the wave in Reason's NNXT if you'd like, but since I already know it's garbage... what would be the point? Valley, took it upon himself to make some "very" personal attacks on me... Including: that I'm incapable of following his "complex discussion" of Tracktion's wave export capabilities (it doesn't work)... that I feel "victimized" by the platform I've used for 20 years to earn a living (like I'd need to defend that?)... And finally, he's going to "help" the rest of the Tracktion users from now on, but ignore me! — Great!
If you don't use a Mac, why speculate about the problem anyway? I could have gotten the answer from Braj's post without Valley's lecture on my "personal shortcomings" ...which coming from someone who doesn't even know me, seems a little ridiculous? I have definitely complained about Tracktion over the last couple years, and being a Mac user, the lack of AU... But victimized?
If anything, I'm victimized by a lack of "good information"... Unfortunately, no one at OSX audio uses Tracktion so it seems that I have little choice... As a footnote, when I asked a question about (T2) at Mackie the other day, a nice fellow said: Hmmm... not sure about that, we'll ask the developer about it and get back to you... and, what's your shirt size?

No more personal than you repeatedly -- yes "repeatedly," don't try to come the "we've never crossed paths before" crap -- accussing me of being cynically driven to put down the Mac platform and oppressed Mac users such as yourself at regular junctures.DHR53 wrote: Valley, took it upon himself to make some "very" personal attacks on me...
If you *really* can't recall, I can only form one conclusion: you've made that claim against so many people that they've all started to blur into one.
I, on the other hand, do recall the threads because from the day the Mac version of Tracktion was first touted, only three people have ever accussed me of an anti-Mac bias, and you are one of them.
Complex? What was complex about it? There's a known problem. I believe (laterly confirmed by semiquaver) that the files will open in some applications, but are unreadable in others. If that is complicated to you then I really don't know how to break it down any smaller.Including: that I'm incapable of following his "complex discussion"
Because I was trying to help, and because if you had exhibited the common sense and courtesy to start an intelligent conversation rather than a a feeble little "don't pick on me" rant, I could have logged it as a bug.If you don't use a Mac, why speculate about the problem anyway?
Beyond that, the rest of this thread has largely been a case of you bending over backwards to find any way of avoiding the fact that, just maybe, you jumped to the wrong conclusion and over-reacted. A little sad really.

I come here to give and receive help from users - and to get info to and from the developer. Not for drama, name calling, or speaking of other threads, making fun of Ron or pee-pee jokes. someone lock this thread - please

let's summerize what started all this...
DHR53
Who went off the deep end DHR53? where was the "mac attitude" ? Yes, you appear a bit touchy...
DHR53
ValleyI was trying the export file command out, from T2... 2 bar audio loop... when saved as .aif all I get is white noise! Scared the crap out of me when I previewed it Shit! .wav works fine?? Anyone, OSX version, of course!!
DHR53I haven't really been following this cos OSX stuff is of little interest to me, but I recall there being issues with AIFF files. It seems some apps can import Tracktion generated AIFFs and others can't.
Try opening it in a few different programs.
ValleyI mean the file that has been exported, when played back in the finder, is just noise! Nothing there??
DHR53Did I not just answer that?
after which the heat turned up in this entire thing...No you didn't... Telling me some apps can import T aifs, has nothing to do with playing/previewing the file does it? The file is noise, whether imported, played from the finder or anyplace else... Your "mac attitude"... is getting a little tired. How about you just work with the PC people and let us "muddle along" by ourselves, eh?
