Broken Render

anyway, if you just pay the 19 for tapeit 2 you can synch up track.
or you can whine and cause a huge roar about it. I like tapeit a lot anyway for many uses..so spending 19 dollars to workaround sucks, but let's be honest, a really great sounding VSTi sequencer that mixes in 64 bit floating point for under 800 dollars is a deal...tracktion is still the best deal you can get regardless of the render issue.

What about "Dans la boîte", the free plug that Daniel made? I've never used it, but he said that he made it to record tracks from Tracktion because of some unhappiness with T's rendering.

I agree that this has been blown out oa all proportion. Yes it is a bug, yes it's very poor that rendering should be any less than perfect, yes it should be fixed, but if you're relying on perfect reverb trails to make your tracks not sound dull, then maybe you should re-evaluate your music on a more fundemental level.
Seriously, this audiophile shit bores the hell out of me. A couple of bits of extra dynamic range, that no-one but you will notice anyway, is not what is going to make your music better.

Yeah - whilst I really hope this gets fixed soon, I've gotta agree with that!

Daniel, then why bother including support for anything higher than 44/16? And don't bother purchasing Mackie HR monitors... after all, why bother hearing nuances when you can use $30 computer speakers.
Let's not stop with audio. Photographers, videographers, we've decided that we've reached enough detail in the current digital photo technology. Who cares if that picture of a tree is slightly jagged, no one cares.
The fact is that I notice. I have the equipment so that I can hear these things. I take the time to produce things so that they please my ears. I don't care what you hear when you listen.
If I were to export from Tracktion now, when I listen to my music now and years from now I will be hearing something other than what I created. That is the whole point. It's not so much that the quality is poor, since quality of recordings is relative. The point is:
Tracktion exports something different than what I produced.
It is like having a beautiful woman, puting tons of effort into building a deep relationship, sexing her brains out, going through the pregnancy in constant anticipation, and then finally on that special day seeing another man's baby come out. Whaaaaaat?! Sure it might be a nice looking baby compared to others... but that aint mine!!

It's a false analogy. But if you want to take it there, then fine, it works in your direction, too:
If it's that important to you, then obviously you should be replacing all your patch cables with premium cabling. And why settle for a normal soundcard, which may have less than pristine output because of its connectors? Worse yet, what if you're using an analog connection to your monitors instead of pure digital? While you're at it, how about those monitors? Your $300 aren't going to cut it now, are they. You shouldn't even bother until you have $10,000 studio monitors that can reproduce the entire frequency spectrum.
And VST plug-ins? Forget it. If you want a proper compressor, the only way to do it is with a proper outboard tube compressor. And I'm not talking about your budget ART or Behringer jobbie, either.
If you're going to use an analogy, make sure it's complete. Don't just tailor it to your own needs.

Yes semi, I am a monkey, okay?
Lunch, you completely missed it. I'm not obsessed with quality. I can create art on any canvas you give me.
The audio I hear as I do my thing is my clay. I mold it how I like. Now with a clay sculpture, when I am done it doesn't suddenly turn into something else. It is what it is. But in Tracktion, you mold the clay, and then it suddenly slightly changes shape when someone else looks at it.

fake_fake... at this point you are intentioanlly beating a dead horse. Your point has been made repeatedly on a topic of which is Mackie is very aware... there is no point in continuing this thread.
