Any good free delay plugs?

Ohmboyz is very good, Tobybear's Cowdelay is an interesting freebie and I seem to be alone ( so far ) in liking the mda Dubdelay. It's got no fancy gui, but is great for twiddling delay trails a la Dub Syndicate. Let's not forget Bouncy either- get that set right and, well, madness ensues :D
Coffee please, black, no sugar.

aldi,

Can you explain the lack of overdrive comment? Because that's one of the things I like about BionicDelay - how it does do overdrive-like things to each repetition.

hmm, i'm talking about very heavy overdrive that you'll get, when feedback is full up and than the delay gets louder and louder and louder.... i like to do such things on live events. the bionic delay does it nearly fine but i like my tapedelay more, because it does it like i like it :)

The creme de la creme of free delays (imo), & I mean no disrespect to many of the other fine freeware offerings when I say that, it's just that retrodelay truly is outstanding.
You can definately get some of that oldschool tape delay flavour from it.
Class.
Mmmm ... like it too.

I love using delay but it's rare I can find one I like - and that includes expensive ones (cost translates as quality?)

And so often, as usual, it's a SynthEdit product that cuts it.

Any ducking delays?
I'd suggest to use the delay, which sound you like most.
Then grab http://www.ismusic.ne.jp/slim_slow_slider/vst/ SlimSlowSlider's SidechainGate, set up a RackFilter with it and the Delay and be happy with the best of the two worlds. ;)

I should add there is the conveniently titled "DuckDelay" as well. :)

Aldi,

Your tape delay is freaking awesome! I cant really get into that ephonic delay yet, no idea why.

Tape delay is freaking amazing too. I hope we're all talking about that one by interruptor. That one is so killer.

Try popping some of that tape delay on some simple drums and they sound so killer.

This one is really awesome. You can get ever evolving soundscapes that just go on and on.
A musical instrument in itself.

MoreFeedbackMachine is really cool as well.
My favourite until i discovered the 2WarpDelay.

For simpler stuff i just go with the Kjaerhus Classic. This one really deserves it's name. Classic!

Out of all these delays, which do ppl think is a great trance delay - as apart from a pad evolver, or a synth squealy-mangler?

What do you mean with "trance-delay"?
