Notebook freezes running T2

Hello again.

I figured out the my MOTU 896HD wasn't compatible with the FireWire NEC chipset. So I tried T2 with my M-Audio MobilePre instead. I managed to record 2 tracks fine. On the 3rd track, it froze the entire computer. Anybody experience this?

I'm running an HP nc6000 notebook.

I've been having lock out too. It happens when I try to import
wave files from a cd or from disk. Its a real hassle since I
lose everything in the current edit that has not been saved.
I'm running a toshiba satellite laptop.

Does anyone have any idea what can be tried here? It seems a waste that this is happening...

Does Tracktion always freeze on the 3rd track? Try recording 2 tracks, then rendering those to one track, then recording another track.

My old laptop has a lot of problems reading from the CD drive (lock ups etc.), its like it takes up all its resources or something. Luckily I dont use it for audio at all.
