ok i like hardware, so i'm gonna be the troll herebenjamind wrote:Often times the reason they're so passionate about their hardware is because they can't stand to think that there is much cheaper software that can match or even outperform their hardware. They invested a lot of money into their hardware gear and hate to think that software could possibly sound as good or even better.
what you just said is true even for software owners. We can see symptoms of this "mis-judgment" (hoping u get my french english) everywhere, on this forum too (and quite often). Ask someone "what's the better this or that plug-in", he will always answer what he owns. And he will be less objective, the more he invested money (yes software can be expensive too, i'm sure you know that)
if you wanna talk psychological, i can see frustration and jealousy in this very thread
We could make the opposite thread, with all the stupid things we can hear from guys thinking they can do the same as a real recording/mixing studio with their box. This thread would be as stupid as this one.
Here at Kvr few weeks ago I heard someone complaining his mic preamp wasn't very good, and he asked if anyone know a good mic preamp emulation, he said this way he could get rid of his cheap preamp.
THAT was hilarious.
now beat me soft fanatics.
