well, i've tried everything i could think of. nothing's working. i've asked waves, but they tell me to come to you. they tell me that since it's working in other softwares that it must be tracktion.

where do we go from here? it's not neccessary for me to buy 5.0. the version that i have is fine with me. and it's really not that old. hell, some of the plugins that came with tracktion 2 are older than waves ver. 4. its not needed for me to upgrade my plugs. we need for this to work with T2, or i am asking for a refund, lol. it's just not worth the hassle.

this is getting to be kind of humorous around the office here. we have two bets running: one says i'll have to buy another waves upgrade, and one says that if waves4 doesnt work with T2 that ill get a refund. which one do you think im shooting for?

i don't know what else to do. any ideas?

Post

hmmm... i am confused.

ok, let me ask this. if one were to start from scratch, and install waves4 to work with T2, what would one need to do to get the waveshell to actually work? lol. (fellas, im to the point of pulling my hair out). im going to give this maybe another day and then im giving up and going back to cubase.

<<it is my understanding, and the understanding of waves, that one should put the dll in the plugins folder and the scan would detect and then use the waveshell to open and use the plugs. so far this is not happening in T2 for me. but i may be doing something wrong here.>>

Waves VST version(s) uses Shell (collection of plugins) extensions of VST specifications. The extensions is courtesy of Waves to us. Shell extension is way to make one VST plugin to publish multiple VSTs and the interface allows host to enumerate and initiate any of the plugins in the Shell. So that is the Shell dll file.

If the host developer has omitted to implement support for the Shell extension.. Waves VST versions won't work and you're better of with DX versions.

So did you have any luck FFX-4?

beno's a swell guy. he's been a helping friendly fellow in here ill say!

lets see what he does with this.

what i'd like to know,(specifically, if possible)is what changed from T1 to T2 that made waveshell4 inoperable for me? and can it be changed back? if so, how long of a wait? if not, then what is the refund policy on this software? lol. i have business to tend to. i don't have very much longer to fool around trying to get this working. i'll just move on if there's no solution in sight.

the vb stuff never worked before, but ill try it once more with feeling.

i need to go investigate this 4.0.5 thing. remember, im not on a mac. im on a P4. let me see...

elementary. i've understood this from the beginning. and so have waves themselves. they are saying that it has to be T. if it's working in cubase, it's in good shape. it can't be a problem with waves software.

lets see how they handle this one. im gonna sit back and watch now. ...after i look into this "4.0.5" thing. i still think that's for mac though. we just got 4.0.1.

ok. im off to see the wizard. beno? you there little buddy?

ive used waves here in Tracktion and no problem here. Make sure you scan the correct folder where you place the dll files. It should work
