Help, anybody!
I purchased ChineeKong V2 and installed it, have been using it, and now I'm up, working all night to finish a piece on deadline. I go to insert a CK into the project to continue recording, and I get a notice that my "temporary trial period" has ended. It gives me a place to set my name and key, but the ones that were sent to me aren't working!
This is a serious, serious screw-up, as I shouldn't have to do anything once I've paid for the instrument and installed it properly.
If ANYONE knows how to fix this, please post - I've sent an email to Kong Audio already, but I am in a big, big bind if this can't be resolved quickly.
Terrible.

Hi Jon,
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
We hope you understand that in order to fight piracy, we have to resort to C/R model. It's our standard registration scheme.
The response code has been sent to you already.

Hi AC,
Yes, got the email, and as I wrote privately, I appreciate very much the quick turn-around on that. After a couple hours sleep (which I wasn't planning on, but CK2 is an integral part of this music!) I think I might make the deadline!
I might suggest, however...
In going back over the email info from the purchase, I came across the *one* mention of the c/r, with something about a response within a two week period. I'm a loyal and legal customer, and I'd really rather just take care of that all at the beginning. If I missed it, it is probably because it isn't very well documented, but it would be a great idea if the user could deal with the registration as soon as possible, or otherwise get periodic notices that he needed to take care of the c/r in x number of days.
As it turned out, midnight on the day of deadline the clock turned over and I couldn't insert this instrument - with all the brain stress in composition, I certainly wasn't thinking about any kind of authorization for a product I had purchased two weeks before!
Again, I appreciate the very quick response, and only offer the thoughts above as a slightly smoother way for your paying customers to 'take care of business'.
Cheers,
Envoy (off to finish composing/recording...)

Piracy is such a problem with good software like this, I understand the C/R method. It's not much of a hassle, I don't mind it.

I agree entirely, I only think it might be possible to handle it just a little more elegantly. I haven't had many situations that bit me in the butt quite like last night!Gregjazz wrote:Piracy is such a problem with good software like this, I understand the C/R method. Hi Jon, thanks for the suggestion. We'll keep that in mind. For now, we will probably add a bit more explanation in the help file to ease this up for new users.

You know, I think that would go a long way to clear up the kind of event I had. And now, as it is late afternoon, I'm doing a final mix, and I managed to get most of the CK stuff in. This was a deadline for a first run-through, so I'll have time to go back and tweak things. When I get something representative, I'll post it and let you know.sosayweall wrote:Hi Jon, thanks for the suggestion. We'll keep that in mind. Envoy (who wishes you didn't have such a full and varied instrument - makes it hard to find just the right drum or gong I'm looking for!!
