I agree with you too Greg! (or did you count me already?) :D

Quit it. Go back to assuming I know nothing. It's more accurate! ;)

Kind of goes against the bundled Final Mix though
Funny, you say that, IIRS. I had already run the mixes through Final Mix, using a variant on the Final Jazz preset. Which is the most Xtreme setting I'm legally entitled to use. And I thought that was pushing the limits of my limited good taste.

However, the Mastering Wall guy thought it wasn't even close to the 'Industry Limit'!

Even better, since I'm the customer, I'm right! :D So it's shipping the way I like it, even tho for only a few hundred dollars more I could swim in the same square waves the 'industry' big fish drown in!

Thanks for all the support. And Greg, no one ever claimed you were stupid. You always have some great advice to contribute. You might have read 'stubborn' and heard it as stupid. :)

How much was he charging you (just out of interest?)

$80 per hour. Not bad. Until you realize that building 'industry standard' square waves doesn't happen overnight! It can take days in a specially treated room filled with expensive square wave generating equipment. :)

Oh, I never thought that people thought I was stupid. Just ignorant. ;) And nah, I didn't really think that people think that, either, though it's an absolute fact that I'm an amateur.

ps, modula made a intresting post about deleating all the VU meters on the tracks so you dont get fooled by the red lights on the tracks (i would reconmend this to those that dont like seeing red lights in T2)

just dont let the master peak, & enable 64bit mixing or summing or whatever that option is

the master out is the only thing you need to worry about cliping.

i keep my meters in so i know witch bit rate to render audio tracks though (if you are hitting red on a track & then render it in to the project as a audio file in 16bit format, then you will loose sound quality!!

You meant to say bit depth right? ;)

It will still clip @ 24-bit btw: its only 32-bit float that gives the extra headroom..
