heres an idea, which you may have thought of, but it might be to your advabtage to try to find some controller manufactures to go in with you on this.
The Muse Controller.
Basically:
19 knobs, 16 and 3
16 switches ( for muting)
5 switches to go between banks
bank 1: Volume for each channel
bank 2: Pan for each channel
bank4: CC's 16-33 ( to control softsynths)
bank5 CC's 33-48 ( more control for softsynths)
The 16 swithes are used for real time muting
The other 3 knobs are for the master volume and the 2 effect busses.
ADD a MIDI keyboard controller.
basically, I found that my EMU Command Station fit the bill, as it has all the above( exept muting)

I can switch live for volume and panning and also control softsynths with the CC's 16-33. I usually do:
first 4: Filter parameters( Cuttoff, Q, Env and LFO to filter
next 4: adsr for filter
next 4: adsr for amp
next 4: Osc parameters, or whatever else i want: glide, lfo rate, ect.
But the command station is not made anymore, and also is a synth and sequencer in it's own right. However as a controller for receptor, it really works!!I wonder if EMU would give permission to use just the guts of it?
I think a dedicated controller for the receptor would make it a real plus package. It really opens up the whole unit to have all these controls at your fingertips. I am sure you could ask any of the controller deallers and go in with them to make a dedicated controller.
Just an idea!! what do you musers think??
