Well.. you didn't actually write any of those melodies did you?

I like them actually, but I don't think they are perfect enough to justify your earlier tone.. so I suggest you put up un-mastered versions, and I will attempt to improve on your versions using nothing but Final Mix. Up for that?

There is the guitar lick which I didn't do, and the 'feeling good was easy sample'. Everything else is me, the melodies, chord progressions, instruments and all. This isn't your traditional loop based music as I tried to explain.

These are near unmastered versions (aka. quick masters). There is corrective EQ, fullband compression and mastering limiter. It's been a while so I can't remember the exact plugins or settings. You will put FinalMix on my music only over my dead body.

As for my earlier tone, you aren't to decide whether it was justified, I am.

Kingston, I found your heavy soul mix for a song you posted here to be a bit smeary and overdriven, but it was absolutely perfect for the song. Therefore, it was awesome.

As for the 'KVR Attitude police'-- it's a dirty job and the hours are long, but at least it doesn't pay a dime or have benefits.

Yep, the mix I posted here was awful. That's also why I told jmh not to post it.

(as an excuse I can say the song was done in about 12hours, the composition, lyrics, arrangement, mixing, all of it. It was a RCC song, 'Rapid Composers Consortium'. It has since been remixed. will post it later)

I hope you considered copyrights. Basically it's not up to you to decide wether you can publish my material on the net. I don't think the moderators would hesitate to pull off your link if you feel like trying your luck. Feel free to muck around in private though.

Of course I did. The 'feel good' sample was lifted off an extremely rare german cover band album. I tried my best searching for the label and the band or the singer but they're long gone, hence fair game. The guitar riff will be duplicated if there ever was to be a commercial release, but for a small taster scene release the mangled original will make do.

The rest aren't sampled, or the source is missing or a sample CD.

Well, you gotta admit, IIRs WAS kind of goading him. I mean, I'd love to hear what IIRs would do with Final Mix and a raw edit of Kingston's material and all, but if Michael's not up for that I can't really blame him. That's a LOT of scrutiny to be under, which isn't pleasant for a perfectionist-- particularly when they admit they haven't achieved that perfection.

Why aren't making examples on your OWN material? What you're doing right now is plain bullying, a fair distance closer to evil compared to my (rather bitchy) attitude.
