I'm out here!

- that's the reason why I like software-studios so much more by the way - you do not need to dominate other human beings to achieve your vision... - I always hated that problem when I played in bands!

And to quote Austin Powers:jens wrote:I wasn't criticizing Tracktion at all, Greg!Lunch Money wrote: But before you get on other people's cases, you need to consider that Tracktion is simply the perfect fit for some people (or, as perfect as it gets with the current selection).
A
(or at least not this time...)
the discussion broke loose because of this stupid often repeated pseudo-argument:
polaris20 wrote:I don't want to sound like a smart ass, but do people really sit around at their computer going "damn, if only I had this one more feature, I could finally complete my vision!!"
Just friggin' record. Be a musician. Use what you've got.
it a paraphrase of the stupid:
'the Beatles recorded Sgt. Pepper on eight tracks and you're still crying for more features with all you've already got? Real musicians can work with anything!' (or some similar bullshit)
Polaris insulted you as well as me (and many others) round here.
"I'm sorry that bug up your ass had to die"
It wasn't an argument, it was an opinion. Sorry you couldn't tell the difference.
I didn't insult you. I didn't call you an asshole, assclown, moron, etc.
Relax, and quit being an emo kid

There can only be one ROCK, though. Rock effin' Kennedy, YO!
Jens-- another 'telling' difference between you and me. I Loooooves me some collaboration with other musicians. I have to say, the only part about recording a band that does my nut in sometimes is when they just fart around in a bad way (creative farting around can be good!) when you have better things to do than listen to them dick around on their instruments.
But whether in a band or in the studio, I've certainly not had the instinct to dominate other human beings.
That's only for the bedroom.
JK! JK!

Greg, I think you got me all wrong!
- I don't like to dominate other musicians (or other people in general for that matter)
- I love to collaborate with others and actuallyI am open for everything - but...
- ...I already experinced situations like this: I am the keyboarder in abna d a we're working on a composition of mine. The bass-player misses my point completely. I've been a bass-player in several bands for several years so I could tell him politely that his line doesn't suit my song, take his bass and shopw him what I have in mind - this is analog to the triangle-player example - or I just swallow it and am frustrated instead about the direction the sound takes. At home in my studio I can do most of everything on my own and I only collaborate with people I really trust. And this is the source of a huge enjoyment for me!
