No here and the NI forum - I tried the Mackie forum months ago for something else and never got a response even from anyone at Mackie - seemed pretty dead.

ill post a link to this thread over at the beta forum then ...

(one of the team MUST have some NI plugs ... maybe mackie can buy me reaktor if not)

tracktion has this problem with BFD, too

in FLS however it's rock solid

Thanks

though I thought this one was too (as well as Raw Material)

It would be useful to get some idea of if and when this is going to be addressed and fixed because otherwise I'm seriously thinking of jumping ship to Sonar 5 now it's out (and I qualify for the upgrade) but I'd prefer not to spend the £229 if I can avoid it.

I'd just like to add I've been using Kontakt 2 and I am experiencing exactly the same bounce/render/freeze problems (sound, gap, sound, gap etc)

Right now I'm a bit mystified as to how to solve it. Improving the cache size of kontakt helped. Seems a bit silly; I can load the entire piano into RAM if only I could figure out how, and bypass DFD alltogether.

There is a thread here on this issue

I cant seem to get the 'offline' bounce mode in kontakt to work in T2; anybody else figured out how?

Post

i don't know if this is of any help, but within Kontakt or a sampler in general (as it was explained to me) the bounce to offline mode basically loads up system RAM with the full sample so no access will be required during rendering to wav -- what presumably is causing the cutouts is having to retrieve new samples during the relatively fast process of rendering vs. the slow process of playback where disk retrieval can keep up.

once i started using bounce to offline I didn't have any problems in Cakewalk hosts

given that, I think it sounds like rendering Absynth and/or Reaktor might be a different problem

Post

It's just frustrating that there's absolute silence from the people that really need to be adressing this - Mackie/Raw Material and NI.

mr X wrote:Rob, I said on the Mackie forum that I would test this and had one of my guys do so last weekend. He was running a P4 1.7 GHz machine, with only 768MB of RAM on WinXP Home SP2. He used Absynth 3 within Tracktion 2, one track only, and after setting 25 lines of automation, there were still no drop outs. However, after moving up to 35 lines of automation, he was then able to get drop outs during the render. As the guys on the forum mentioned, playback is fine... it's only rendering. Since this thread here (from the KVR thread) shows Cubase users with the same issues, I'm inclined to suspect that NI could be the cause:

However, this could be worth investigating on our end just to make sure we've minded our p's and q's.
