Very much looking forward to trying either Ivory or Akoustic piano. I'm trying to research which will suit my needs better for live use. I'm leaning towards Ivory simply because I've coveted it for so long, but I'm hearing great things about Akoustik also, and in particular that it is very dry and suitable for live use. I guess the deciding factor will be how each performs on Receptor.
Kontakt II is long awaited!!
The new midi improvements seem like they will be of great benefit to me, and of course increased RAM efficiency is always welcome.
I'm probably one of the few that is not impatient for the release of Uniwire, as I use Receptor more for performance. I will welcome it with open arms into my home studio when it gets here, but it is not as pressing for me.

Native Instruments is updating B4. I am not sure I will really need this upgrade, but I am really hoping that the inclusion of B4 into the effects section of Receptor happens. If I need to buy the upgrade to make this happen then I probably will. I'm wondering though, if there is an installer for B4 at that point for people who want to update, if I could just wipe the pre-installed version from my drive and install the windows version I currently have. This probably doesn't belong in this post, however!!!!

I'm with you ~ except that I had to learn to become patient.

: )

NI was NO help, and extremely s l o w in responding to my questions about upgrading to the B4 ver. 2.

I asked for a list of the additions & changes, and if it they would offer a free upgrade to those who purchased a B4 recently...

The response, a week later, was:
B4 version II has not been released so far.
We would ask for your patience till the update is released

Fair, I suppose, but frustrating.

I spoke to Farhan yesterday, and we hope to have B4II released in the next two weeks. Our QC department has been pretty backed up with UniWire recently.

Thanks for your patience... we're not just sitting around drinking lattes, ya know...we work as quickly as we can!!! ;-)

Cheers

Is anyone using the B4D drawbars in conjunction with the Receptor successfully?

Yeah, a few people are using it. You need to turn on "Route MIDI CC's to plug-in" from the MIDI setup section on the setup page. This basically passes MIDI CC messages through the mixer into the plugin, otherwise Receptor thinks you want to use the CCs to control the mixer.

I don't know if anyone has tested B4D with the B4II that is being tested in house... I'll have to check into that.

I've been using Akoustic Piano on Receptor for a couple of months and it seems to work well. I've done a couple of live shows with it and no problems. I did notice that the EQ section inside Akoustic Piano does not seem to work on the Receptor, but that can be dealt with at the mixing board or as a plugin. As for stability, I haven't had any problems with Akoustic (and mind you, I've had lots of problems with Kontakt 2 on Receptor).
