Hi,

while looking for Chinese Instrumental music I discovered:

http://www.medieval.org/music/world/china.html
with many recommendations.

The best label as far is I found out is:
http://www.wind-records.com.tw/shop/english/page1.asp
The site is also available in Chinese () and it has a cool search function which allows you to search for instruments (if you search the CD introduction).

I particularly like this erhu-CD:
http://www.wind-records.com.tw/shop/eng ... =SMCD-1010
(check the 2nd example).

If anybody knows of some other source I'd appreciate a hint. Maybe we can collect a few more sites... :)

Indeed, Winds Records and Hugo are two of the most well-known labels that focus on the Western market when it comes to Chinese music.

There are many related sites out there, so guys, you are welcome to add more to the list.

I'll add one here myself:

Here's a site (thanks to Dave for bringing this up to me) that contains some explanations of Chinese instruments. May be helpful to you guys :)
