EmulatorX and Charlie troubles...

Hi,

just wondering if someone else uses EMU emulatorX sampler and USB Charlie (vintage organ) in Traktion2?
1) When I use Emulator in Traktion it really uses all my CPU power so the cpu meter turns into red almost immediately after playing a few notes.
2) when I select the Charlie plugin, most of the time my system freezes totaly...and I have to restart my whole computer.

I don't experience any troubles with other plugins (kontakt/GPO/B4/etc...) only with those two.
I use an AMD 3500+/ 2Gig/ so that must be sufficient I suppose.
Anyone noticed the same and have some tips?

Thanks,

Willy

I have the Proteus X LE which is based on the same engine as the Emulator X, and I find it can be a real CPU hog. No tips in particular other than to use freeze a lot.

Thanks Rich,

strange though....I used to work with cubase (months ago) and I can't remember having the same problems in Cubase. So is it the emulator/proteus engine or Traktion?
Just wondering... :?

I suppose you mean "streaming"? I don't have "real time mode" box to untick in my preferences.

It actually doesn't really make a difference...:-( (untick streaming)

Hi - I use Charlie and Proteus X in Project 5 simultaneously without a hitch. And my PC is nowhere near as powerful as yours.

Lucky guy!! :-)
I just received a mail from USB (Charlie) and they say it's probably related XP sp2 so they'll try to provide a patch to fix it. The Emulator part is still unsolved.

I had the same reaction as you! Strange, isn't it? Well, I wait and see what they'll offer to fix it.

emulator x is NOT a cpu hog!!!! (witch i found out after slaging off ICHI & the rest of emu support for about a year)

the banks where made shitly IMVHO

all those disks a replacation of there rom patches (where the sample is a few milliseconds long & the sampler dose all the proceseing)

i converted some cpu greedy patches (like the big strings) & tested in several different samplers

cpu hogged again,

if you make your own patches or choose non cpu greedy patches (or just freeze render or resample the cpu greedy ones) its quite good on the old CPU ;)
