No way! this thread won't end until we have the physical copied in our hands, and we have the first reviews. Last year they said it was shipping in Spring 2005, then in Octobre, then in Decembre, then in January and now february. Although the odds are greater this time for a true release, there is still a possibility of a liam.

Here is what Squids had to share with us on another thread:
IK Multimedia is showing the AmpliTube 2 Stomp IO which by the way sounds INCREDIBLE! The latency is low, the analog stage has components like you'd find in a high end console, it looks killer and its functionality is revolutionary. I will talk more about it later.
Boy oh boy, I am getting the urge to buy that SuperStompy thingy now!!! Low latency, high quality ADCs.

I wonder how much it is going to $$$$

I might just sell my PodXT Live to buy this thing...

Oh, and IKMM is releasing another new hardware device:

Behold the StealthPlug!!!!

IK Multimedia have introduced the StealthPlug, a revolutionary cable-like USB audio card designed specifically for guitarists. StealthPlug provides an easy solution to plug any guitar into a computer and enter the world of PC-based digital modeling. Boxed with the guitar amp and FX processing software of AmpliTube Live and AmpliTube LE, the StealthPlug is both an audio card and a virtual amp with effects, for live play and recording, all in one.
Here are the main points of StealthPlug as told by IK themselves:

StealthPLug™ is a compact, cable-like, USB audio card for guitarists to plug into the world of software based amp and effects modeling. The StealthPlug is an in-line guitar cable that serves as a USB audio interface with 1/4” jack on one side and USB on the other side. The StealthPlug also includes a mini-jack stereo output for headphones/amp/powered speakers, an indication LED and also volume buttons. With these features, StealthPlug provides guitarists with a simple connection to plug into their computer and easily start making music.

Plugging a guitar into a computer and entering the world of software based recording, amp and effects modeling has never been made easier! install the software, plug the StealthPlug into your guitar and the USB port of your computer and you’re ready to rock!

The complete mobile solution for playing, recording and practicing live anywhere! The StealthPlug is so compact that guitarists can jam LIVE or use it within their preferred sequencer anywhere. The combination of StealthPlug with AmpliTube® LIVE/LE software makes a complete portable guitar amp and effects modeling solution, both as a stand-alone application and as a plug-in, for any Mac/PC laptop, desktop or rack computer.

An affordable package with award-winning guitar amp and effects sound. An award-winning sound modeled after thousands of dollars of modern and rare vintage guitar amps and effects with a price like a guitar accessory; an incredible value for any guitarist.

A huge setup in your computer that feels like an actual amp using StealthPlug with AmpliTube Live/LE. AmpliTube Live and LE allow you to combine 3 different Preamp models and related EQs with 3 accurately emulated cabinets, so you can precisely craft a wide palette of guitar sounds ranging from clean, to crunch, to lead. Up to 128 fully customizable presets are available and also a chromatic tuner is included, to stay in tune under any conditions. From the press release:
IK Multimedia made several announcements at NAMM:

* AmpliTube 2.0 Shipping in February (no, really)
:-D

Man, it looks like something naughty girls would buy in sex shop... Something stealth enough to be used in everyday situations for instant gratification, without being noticed by other people  I wonder if speed of vibrations will be controlable by expression pedal and can we automate it :D

Other question could be will they use that girl from Amplitube 2 promo, and how explicitely? Will there be a demo with her stealth-plugging herself?
Or is this all just completely new stealth plugins bussines and Ampitube 2 is part of that stealth technology concept? Plugs that are out there, but you can't see or use them. :-o :hihi:

   .... NO THANK YOU!
Sounds like a promo for people who never thought you can hook up a guitar to a computer.

Yep. Shipping February. We have the latest release candidate at the show. I see the info on the Stealthplug has been leaked. I will have to strangle Nick from Sonic State when I see him (WITH the Stealthplug cable in fact! ;) ). He needs to read his PR instructions and respect them more (like Ben does... or tries harder to).

Stealthplug and Stomp IO! Keep in mind that something lkke Stealthplug to expert computer software users like you guys is more of a fun device to have for portability, convenience etc. but to a guitar player who doesn't have an audio interface or even wants to know about that (just wants to plug-in and get right to the amps and effects) the Stealthplug is as "stealth" as it gets for technology getting out of the way! Nice! Good low latency as well. I have a prototype myself. Hehe. ;)

I don't have my own Stomp IO yet but I finally got to play with the one at the show. INCREDIBLE!!!!! It sounds amazing and the latency is very good. AmpliTube 2, Ampeg SVX and Stomp IO are a great combination and one of the most powerful rigs you can get.

Some cool things about the Stomp IO. You have up to 16 different switches/pedals. You can control up to 4,000 presets (four thousand?????) and it has two modes. Edit mode and Play mode. You can edit the plug-in from this floor control surface (which btw makes it drastically different than Rig Control and other...) or you can use it as a straight live foot controller with up to 6 expression pedals! I LOVE that part because it means you can have volume pedal, wah, phaser rates, chorus rates, flanger depth, tremolo... all live and if you sit down for a sec you can control two things at once with both feet! Crazy live fx can be made. I think one of my favorite effects in it is the EchoMan which is a REALLY good emulation of the ElectroHarmonix MemoryMan. I mean, you can really through it like the old analog delay and get some WILD Radiohead/King Crimson delay effects. I am going to have to ask the guys to model an Echoplex and a Space Echo next!!!! (love my vintage fx).

So, anyway, I will report more. I have a thread going with a Squids report. That's where I will be. Amidst all the stuff I have to do as well.
