it's from waves/ssl and it's expensive..hence, it HAS to be good??
you're all so 'effin delutional
This would be nice indeed but please don't replace the clean mode but rather introduce a new mode that is completely without the extra enhancement.Aleksey Vaneev wrote:Kingston, OK, I understand that 'sloppy' sound. But I may expect it to sound sloppy if you run 4 instances in series. With only 2 instances in series it hardly becomes a problem.
I plan to make Clean coloration & Classic detector mode to work like an ordinary compressor - without any phase coloration. Maybe I can also add a switch to force phase linearisation (but this may require additional CPU resources and may increase latency by 8-16 samples).
Very simply, because he is asoundpalace wrote: snooky, no offense, but if you dislike Waves & SSL, then why are you responding to this thread and ruining our fun ?
I wonder if anyone is working on - or has thought of - making a host that is completely modelled after analog desks/gear? Now I know some people get miffed at the idea of software always trying to emulate hardware, and I agree that you should have totally new innovations, but wouldn't it be cool to have a host where all the strips were SSL/Neve/etc inspired? All the included plug-ins were URS-quality EQs, compressors, reverbs, etc?soundpalace wrote:bduffy, same here. Man I'd love to try the compressors, I'm sure they would be fantastic.

Every commercial recording (that was recorded in a high end studio) is generally mixed on a Neve or SSL desk and it is the sound that most of us are striving for, thus having the tools at our fingertips would be of interest to us.
So ... PLEASE let's stop provoking snooky and get back to talking about the new Waves plugins ...

i think it's a perfect job for midiworks.with his SE "new super modeling engine" that will be piece of cake.I wonder if anyone is working on - or has thought of - making an host that is completely modelled after analog desks/gear? I wonder if anyone's up to that...
Well, apart from the channel strip and the master buss compressor, there's not much about an SSL that changes the sound.bduffy wrote:I wonder if anyone's up to that...
You could run 'em on a DSP card though!championrabbit wrote:...Also, imagine the CPU sucking from 24 tracks of SSL channel-strips? You'd max-out before you even hit record!!
Why not go and troll about some big companys rather than two small ones (Waves and SSL)snooky wrote:I'm a troll.
and I don't really like big companies.
It's getting harder and harder to troll around here tho' ...you're all so polite these days.
perhpas I'm better off in OT
Well!ghost666 wrote:

I have definitely thought about this ! Very good idea. Just imagine every channel receives a modelling plugin that models an SSL desk channel, and each channel has a full channel strip based on SSL consoles. Imagine being able to switch between SSL and Neve models ... man I can't stop drooling lolbduffy wrote:I wonder if anyone is working on - or has thought of - making a host that is completely modelled after analog desks/gear?
