Or maybe:

The MidiWorks Ampsim takes amp-sims to a completely new level of authenticity:

What do a '69 100w non-master Marshall stack, a '67 Vox AC30, a '71 Hi-Watt and a '61 Fender Tweed have in common?

You're never likely to own one.

Well, you're never likely to own the MidiWorks Ampsim either!

MidiWorks: Authenticity is our business.

It seems (to my admittedly unprofessional mind) like you'd get a lot more of the market with that strategy. People who would spend $300 on an uber plugin will still spend $300 to buy them all or whatever, and people who would never dream of spending that much on a plugin (ie - the masses of freeware and sub $50 plugin users) would still be buying your product. I've said before that if it comes out and sounds this good for less than the price of a decent amp, then I should be all for it, but if it comes out sounding this good and is available in "small doses" for cheap(ish), I'll be completely addicted to getting new amps, and not just get burned out after one big hit.
I think this idea has been heartily rebuked by midiworks, but I'm in agreement with you.

I would much prefer to have add-on packs that I could purchase and enjoy over time.
Damn really? I must have missed it. I hope he reconsiders before releasing.
I'd probably never spend $300 up front, but over time I'd spend more than that in small increments. That doesn't make sense, but its just easier to buy that way.
This makes perfect sense. Convenience sells because it is conducive to spontaneous/impulsive purchasing. The majority of consumers (and I'd say a larger majority of musicians) are loathe to research, budget, stick to the budget and save money, then purchase a product weeks or months after they decide they want it. Of course, if it comes out as one uber plugin (or pack of), then I'll be trying to do just that.

Thats a bit the way we will go,
not exactly but in that direction. ;)

I personaly would like that everyone will be able
to own a Soundspectral amp sim.
Without breaking the bank and with the possibility
to upgrade to the next bigger version with ease.

We are working on that idea right now.

Make it sound so damn good that everyone will! :)

:?: Will your plug have a "Learn Midi" function? Will it be possible to control it (changes presets, effects) with a foot controller?

Wooh!

That's another year in development right there!

Pretty soon he's going to have to consider procreation so that there's somebody to take over the thread when he's gone...

dude just so you know it's not an engineer, it's not a developer, or even the name on the front that makes an amp or sim sound good...;)

btw it isn't even tubes or what's used to make the amp or sim that makes it sound good..

Sorry for SendSpace...

First you can hear Dimitar playing
his Carvin Legacy, than the new model.

30 seconds each, so you can really compare.
EQ was set to zero.
Can you hear the tubes ?

only if you bang on the amp and the power tubes being microphonic pick up the sound...

I haven't listened to the clips though, as you know I have stated that samples and clips won't do it for me...it's kinda like phone sex if you ask me, if I can't plug into it...what's the point?

Did you miss the question, or you just don't want to answer it?
