I still lean towards the idea of individual amp models that we can demo and then buy and get quantity discounts on. It seems (to my admittedly unprofessional mind) like you'd get a lot more of the market with that strategy. People who would spend $300 on an uber plugin will still spend $300 to buy them all or whatever, and people who would never dream of spending that much on a plugin (ie - the masses of freeware and sub $50 plugin users) would still be buying your product. I've said before that if it comes out and sounds this good for less than the price of a decent amp, then I should be all for it, but if it comes out sounding this good and is available in "small doses" for cheap(ish), I'll be completely addicted to getting new amps, and not just get burned out after one big hit.

I think this idea has been heartily rebuked by midiworks, but I'm in agreement with you.

I would much prefer to have add-on packs that I could purchase and enjoy over time.

I'd probably never spend $300 up front, but over time I'd spend more than that in small increments. That doesn't make sense, but its just easier to buy that way.

This makes perfect sense. Convenience sells because it is conducive to spontaneous/impulsive purchasing. The majority of consumers (and I'd say a larger majority of musicians) are loathe to research, budget, stick to the budget and save money, then purchase a product weeks or months after they decide they want it. Of course, if it comes out as one uber plugin (or pack of), then I'll be trying to do just that.

I personaly would like that everyone will be able
to own a Soundspectral amp sim.
Without breaking the bank and with the possibility
to upgrade to the next bigger version with ease.

We are working on that idea right now.

only if you bang on the amp and the power tubes being microphonic pick up the sound...


I haven't listened to the clips though, as you know I have stated that samples and clips won't do it for me...it's kinda like phone sex if you ask me, if I can't plug into it...what's the point?
