I am very much interested in buying a Muse Receptor, however I cannot find any dealer nearby within 100 km to test it at. I would definately not like to buy a cat in a sack, so here goes my question:
For a live gig I would need this setup:
1 Receptor, linked with an old ADAT (so I can have 8 extra outputs through a small digital cable, instead of the standard 2 provided).
I would make one multipatch per song :
1 VST playing a full-length song click track (probably using NI Kompakt ?) on a separate output channel, needed for our drummer
1 VST playing a full-length prerecorded stereo arrangements track (also using NI Kompakt? ) having a stereo output, both on separate output channels
regarding that both VSTS (this one and the clicktrack) are triggered using one note.
About 6 to 10 VST's being or Kompakt or other VSTs for live sounds midi-linked with my master keyboard. I need to be able to switch my master keyboard onto any of those VST's separately or together (quickly turning the knobs?), without stopping the full-length samples that are running.
2 VST's handling vocal effects, each with a separate output channel but sharing the same source coming from a DI box.
Do you think this setup will work and that the performance of the Receptor will keep up ?
What about loading time for one multipatch if I do it this way? (If u calculate: 4 minute stereo track = 35mb + 4 minute mono track = 17 mb + probably a lot of multisamples (strings/horns/orchestra) 100mb-200mb in total = +- 300 mb total of samples for a multipatch) Can anybody tell me more about this?
Perhaps I should upgrade it to have 2 GB of RAM and preload everything before the gig and use an UPS?
I can use my Korg Triton to fill up gap sounds, but I cannot start a song without starting the clicktrack to the drummer... ?
Thanks a lot for all replies and I hope this machine will make my dreams come true
