DanTimis wrote:Yes. If you authorized Colossus only on one PC, you still have an authorization left. Authorizing Receptor will be very similar to authorizing a second PC.

There are a few of extra steps, you save the requect on Receptor, authorize using the browser on your PC, copy the authorization code back to Receptor.
Please identify all the steps necessary to authorize Ivory on Receptor. I am confused when you say, "copy the authorization code back to receptor?" I have not found a method to copy text from my PC to my Receptor. Obviously cut and paste do not work in this scenario.
This is how I authorized my 7 or so NI instruments on Receptor, including Akoustic Piano (I don't know how Synthogy's authorization process might differ):

1) You need to mount the Receptor hard drive on your PC over your network using Windows Sharing (I'm using a Mac, so I can't tell you the exact steps, but it's in the manual). Also, if you are not using a separate keyboard/mouse/monitor for Receptor, connect to it with the Receptor Remote application (again, check the manual)

2) From the Setup pane in Receptor, click the "Register Plugins" button ( I think it has a new label in v1.5? ) and select the Registration Tool for the Instrument you wish to authorize.

3) enter the serial number as requested, and the registration screen appears, showing your System ID, etc.

4) Click the "Save Registration File" button. You will get a standard file dialog - use it to navigate to the "My Documents" folder on your Receptor. Save the authorization file there.

5) Switch to the Finder/Explorer of your Mac/PC and navigate to the My Documents folder on the shared Receptor Hard Drive. You will find the registration file you just saved - it is an html file - double-click it to open in your internet browser - assuming you are connected to the internet, locate the link near the bottom of the page to connect to NI's registration server. Login with your NI account, or create a new one if this is your first product, and through the steps of the online registration process until you get the authorizatoin code, a big block of 5-digit numbers.

6) Select and copy the entire block of numbers, either from the web page or the confirmation email that you'll receive within a minute or so, and paste it into a new text document. Save the document to your Receptor's My Documents folder, with a descriptive name like "Ak Piano Auth.txt".

7) Go back to the Receptor screen, and click the "Open File" button in the Registration Tool; navigate to My Documents and open the text file you just saved there.

8 ) Click the 'Complete' button, and you should get a message that your Ni instrument is now authorized - now click 'Exit' and you're ready to use your instrument.

Sounds more complicated than it really is when you break it down like that...hope this helps.

Thanks Brian,

However, I am trying to register Ivory and Ivory is not one of the possible selections on the "Plugin Tools Button".

It will be under Plugin Tools when we release it.

Yes, we have fixed the issues i was mentioning to you at NAMM. Its going through the final testing. Synthogy is receiving a receptor with Ivory in the next couple of days for their final test. So i would say its very close, maybe matter of days..

Thanks all for your patience. Its worth it..

Nice to know Ivory is in process. Running Ivory with T-Racks' Mastering plug in after it, is my favorite piano on earth!

Interesting! What settings do you use?

Post

I pick one of T-Rack's Mastering Suite presets and adjust to taste, It gives Ivory the sustain that I was looking for : )

Is T-Racks by IKMultiMedia working on Receptor?
Thanks,

How much CPU does Ivory use, and is the internal drive fast enough to stream the samples from?
Thanks,
Vincent

No, and I don't think it is currently being tested internally either (Farhan can confirm this).

Can we get that baby on the list? It's T-Racks made by IK Multimedia.

It's an amazing Mastering as well as EQ and compression plug in.
Match that with Ivory and it's my favorite Piano in the whole world : )

It is on the list. We'll get to it eventually :)
