How so?
Revalver was one of the first ampsims and for a long time it had to compete with 2nd and 3rd generation ampsims, so i think because of this people may have a deeply rooted low opinion about it.

Look at my old poll - Revalver was my 2nd favorite then - especially for it's leads and it's semi modular design, but it got only 2 votes (i expected it to win at least 5%-10% of total  :o )

Some ideas:
Revolution
Revelation
Revalver Ultra
Revalver Evolution
Revalver Extreme

I personally don't see anything wrong with the current name. What has that to do with the sound anyway?

Yes revalver 1 sounds sub par by todays standards, but you have to remember they were there pretty much first on the native side. Give some slack for the pioneering. This was, what 1998/99?

and granted, most people won't have ever even used v1.

A little too early to say anything about the look as well, isn't it? And also, what has that to do with the sound either?

I wouldn't change the name much, either. Revalver II is fine. ;)

Wow very cool to hear about this :)
I bought revalver the day after it went on sale (offered to help beta test before the release), have waited for a VST version ever since, with posts to your forum requesting VST support.
I still have very high regards for the plugin, great tone but the presets were less than desirable  but it can be made to sound great.
Would like to help in anyway that I can.

I think the "ReValver Mk II" name is fine too. The ReValver was the first amp sim I ever purchased, back in 2001. I upgraded the SE version, which was included, in the original SONAR 1.0 XL release. I had not used it at all, in recent years. It seemed it was not being developed, any more, and I moved on to other amp sims. In fact, when I had to re-format my hard drive, last Summer, I did not even bother to re-install it. I think the last official update was from 2002.
Then I see this thread, about a new version and check the link to the Alien Connections website. There I find a new update to the original ReValver, with new features and enhancements (64bit compatibility with SONAR 5, when using the 64bit mix engine). So now I want to re-install ReValver with the new updated version, but I can't seem to find my serial number from 5 years ago. :(
I like how Native Instruments & Universal Audio are setup. They both have you setup personal online accounts where you can manage & retrieve your registrations/serial numbers/authorizations, for all your plugins, 24/7.

I played with ReValver (the old one) this morning and it possesses quite interesting tonal options (a bit useless but interesting :) )...Anyway the algorhythms are 'obviously' old! The interface should be improved and the idea of a new look seems very reasonable. Let's see what the new one has to offer ;)

I would like it even if it was called Shitty Blaster.
All i want to say is that in 302 of 304 minds Revalver is inferior when compared to other ampsims, so IMHO AlienConnections would benefit from a new product name (more of their customers would subconsiously believe that it is not only an upgrade of a very old thing, but a completely new program).
More sales = cheaper product = more sales.

Oh and i wonder how many people subconsiously associate number 2 or II with hours and even days of wasted time.

I think in your poll it wasn't about inferiority of Revalver at all. It was simply the fact that quite likely most of those people had never even tried the original version. It really is that old!

No, not inferior. Just not their favourite.
, so IMHO AlienConnections would benefit from a new product name
Nonsense.

More nonsense.
