thanks farhan, on my way!

Post

Just a quick message to say I ordered my Kick Ass Brass today after speaking with Matt from AMG and he tell's me that yesterday he did the required coding for this to be receptor compatible. So any new orders taken on it will have the 'fix' on it as standard. Once again, thank's to Littidy who originally brought this to the attention of everyone! And to the rest of the guys for sorting it out. Can't wait!

LOL - it'll be a long time before we let Matt loose with a compiler :-)

Receptor owners need to ensure that they get v1.03 of Kick Ass Brass or v1.01 of ONE to get the updated code. AMG should have a customer area up on their site soon with downloadable updates etc.

Kind regards

Ah!

Well thank's to the 'compiling' guys too then!:)

Ok I just got the Kick Ass Brass through the post. And before I attempt to install it (btw it's the latest one with the fix on it to work with receptor) does any of the original guys who contrbuted to get it working (Littidy for instance) give some clear step instructions on installing it? I have'nt actually installed a 'unsupported' plug in yet so if you guys who sorted this out could give me a few instructions that'd be great.

Thanks in advance

Just reading through the unsupported jargon, and Im wondering do I need to install this on a windows platform first to access the .dll file? Two of the versions on CD are standalone and vst plug in. So im taking it that i need the vst version. Im not sure how to licence this either with the included licence code.

You need to copy the AMG KAB.dll to your Receptor's unsupported folder. If only an installer is available on the KAB DVD you'll need to install it on a Windows computer first to be able to grab the DLL to drop on Receptor. You should also copy the 'AMG Kick Ass Brass' folder of sounds (I'm not sure exactly where to as I only had a couple of test files).

Once you've copied it over and installed it on Receptor you will need to copy KAB's Machine ID (click the KAB logo) and, with your serial number, register it at AMG's website (www.samples4.com). You will then be sent a license file which you drop in your 'AMG Kick Ass Brass' folder - the library will then be licensed for use.

Thanks for your help Ben. Im just waiting for the licence to be emailed out. I have it installed, and the only problem I can forsee is that the Kick Ass Brass folder is in the wrong place on my Receptor. It's currently residing in the Samples folder. I won't know until I get the email with the licencec. But if Farhan or anybody else knows the right place for it I'd appreciate being told.

Thanks

Ok, I have put the licence file into the Kick Ass Brass folder. The KAB folder is in the My Documents folder at the moment. I can load patches but there's no sound at all. What am I doing wrong?

I'v tried moving the KAB folder from My Documents into the VST Plugin folder, but it won't let me move it. Guess I need another fixer to move this?

Sorted. You can move the folder, just not into the VST Plugin Folder. It now resides in the Sample Folder. It locked up, so after tripple clicking and restarting it works fine I must say, this sounds awesome, Im totally knocked out, and for modern pop funk it's a total winner.

Seems to be buggy still with Receptor. Maybe my procedure is wrong I don't know. Lost the fx sends now, and occasionally you can load sounds up but get nothing out of it. I did click on the fx sends icon so maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway, Im going to delete it all and reinstall, see what happens.

Hmm ok, seems to be working fine now, had to flush the cache with the setup/multi triple click procedure as the dll file failed to reinstall until i did so. Still, live and learn! :)
