I bought DK+ a few days ago. I do not want the funk kit, but I DO want the fixes and other additions.

Are you telling me I have to pay 14 dollars for fixes?!

no, the 14 dollars are not for the fixes but for the lot of hours of work I put to code the Drag&Drop MIDI file export, to enhance the save system to memorize if kit or style was edited, to add a new HP filter to the pad,
to rework the outputs to allow FX Send to Aux 3...

really I understand that you bought it few days ago but what can I do? honest question

Why can't you offer the fixes by themselves then? You can't charge someone for fixes. It's just not right.

by your own admission a couple of posts back you DO want the additions too though ... are they not worth $14 to you ???

... liqih is (as ever) being MORE than fair to his customers here ...

liqih,
just took advantage of your kind offer and bought the full Funk Equipment Set One.
can't wait to get the dk+ update. one of my favorites...
thanks.

Ok, so I bought Funk Equipment. I guess update info will come with the confirmation of that?
Are you planning to keep charging for updates?

Well, he's among the few who charge for point releases. That's his right to do, but the consequence will involve criticism. That's our right as well. I was an early adopter of DK+ and I love it. I'm happy to pay for the update. What I was unhappy about was having to pay $40 for something others had gotten for $24. That is apparently fixed, and I appreciate it.

ok, you're right, but now almost I regret that I wrote:
- small fixes and further optimizations
in the announcement,

since actually there are no bugs in 1.2 which stop you to use the plugin as it is, or am I wrong?

exactly, thanks

DK+ 1.0 to 1.2 was free, now there's a fee for 1.5
since it's mainly (or just) a features upgrade,

I usually do not charge for updates

Y'know.....Maybe I'm just a cranky old man.....

But it seems to me that a couple of you guys are giving Luigi a hard time in the most nit-picky way possible. This is a fantastic VSTi at a low price aleady, he constantly provides world-class support in his forum, you get all kinds of cool free dowloads from his site (None of which he had to offer anyone), he's relentlessly professional and polite, he gives you a break on a deal that you missed, just because you're whining about it, and you then bitch about a $14 charge for an update that is NOT a bug-fix, but significantly extends the functionality of an already extremely cool program.

This is a happy thing he just did, guys! And you're griping because he doesn't also make you a cup of fresh coffee, and wash you car for you, too.

It's be different if you were reporting some sort of bug or rudeness or greed on his part. You're just giving him a rough time because you want something free, something he worked hard to make. For a lot of vendors here, I wouldn't have much reaction.

But Luigi takes care of you. A little respect and even some reciprocity would be nice.

....I don't want to turn this thread into flames and defensiveness...

Do what pleases you. But I don't ever pick at anyone who treats me as professionally as he has.

For my part, I disagree fundamentally. I believe my post started a flamewar, but I will stand by this:
I did not give ANYONE a hard time in any kind of nit-picky way. In fact, I just gave Luigi $24 for his product, and I am happy to do so. I would have been pretty *unhappy* if he hadn't come through for me, but he did -- I expected him to. We have a mutually advantageous situation.

So I continue to be a happy customer. Make note, the difference between me being a happy, returning customer as opposed to an unhappy, former customer, was the basic respect behind the fair deal.
But Luigi takes care of you. A little respect and even some reciprocity would be nice.
Others may have been disrespectful, I don't know. I had conditions that I thought were reasonable and necessary for a fair deal, and Luigi seems to have agreed. If others want to read into this some kind of personal junk, that's their problem. The way I see it, a respectful service-oriented attitude got another $24 sale from me, and perhaps more important, didn't drive me away from the *next* time I think about a product from Dash Signature.

I realize $24 is a drop in the bucket to the size of that business, but that's not the way I see it from my end.

If other people have a problem with my opinion, well, I hope they can work it out. I'm satisfied.

Now, where do the Funk Equipment files extract to? Just put them under /library/?

Don't put fuel on a flamewar by telling plain lies about what people have said.
