BWAAAAAAAAAAHAa! Haven't seen one of those since that guy from the Georgia Satellites. I remember Geezer Butler playing a bass version a little back in the early 70's. Still a cool looking guitar.
The only thing I really ever worry about in a guitar is if it FEELS comfortable. When I go into a pawn shop or guitar center or whatever, I refuse to be one of those butt-greasing geeks that turns it on and is like "look at me".
Hey y'all - we can praise and dis everybody, but I still think that almost every guitarist in the world can do one little tiny thing better than the other (except Peter Buck of REM). Just gotta listen out for it. Most music sucks, but there's still SOMETHING in each artist that can help you......
Okay - back to sounds - early sounds - I'm from Macon, GA, so it would only be normal for me to be an Allman Brother freak. I started listening to them about the time they started (I was listening to my dad's demos he'd gotten from Phil Walden at age 6), and Duane Allman's lead sound on Fillmore East was just out of control. I'm not sure if i've ever heard a better natural distortion sound than that. 50 watt Marshalls, and (of all things) JBL's in his cabs. Wide Open. Saweeeeeeeeeet sound. You could hear the wood of those guitars for DAYS!!!
