Installing BFD/SampleTank 2

I just took possesion of my receptor on Tuesday. So far I am blown away. I opted for the 160gb and 1.2 GB ram setup.

I have not had any luck finding a thread on installing BFD via the user installable method. Has anyone done this with BFD 1.5 and is it relatively simple? I don't think I know where to put all the BFD Kit data.

If there is a step-by-step way to get this program (and SampleTank 2) into my receptor and working, I think I will be in digital heaven. Should I wait for the installer to be released?

Thanks in advance, and congrats on the Uniwire! Looking forward to an RTAS version.

OK, for those who are interested. I had absolutely no problem installing BFD 1.5 via the unsupported plug in method. So far, I just tried the BFD stereo.dll, but since it works great Im gonna install the multi-outs as well. Anyone that needs any help doing this, I'll be happy to try and assist. PM me. Also did Sampletank II the same way last night...no probs.

Good luck to all and happy musings...

RTAS is owned and controlled by Digidesign. Digidesign decides who is allowed and who is not allowed to develop RTAS plug-ins. We are not allowed, but Digidesign has no objection to using the FXpansion VST to RTAS wrapper in conjunction with UniWire.

We are going to make sure that the VST version of the UniWire plug-in works well with the FXpansion VST to RTAS wrapper in Pro Tools. Just to clarify that though you will be able to use UniWire with Pro Tools there will be no RTAS plug-in.

If you already own the FXpansion VST to RTAS wrapper, or Pluggo, you can try UniWire right now. We have reports that it is working. If you don't own it, I suggest waiting until we finish qualifying the FXpansion wrapper. You never know, maybe we will recommend pluggo, although I'm confident that the FXpansion wrapper will work.

Dan,

I don't own the VST to RTAS wrapper as of yet...but as soon as you qualify it, I'll be first in line!

Once again, words cannot describe how inspiring your product is. I have already been touting it to all of my audio buds and I haven't even had it for a week. Good luck with everything, and I look forward to following the growth of your company. Uniwire is gonna knock it out of the park, IMHO.

Has anyone had good/bad luck with the wrapper now that the new version supporting PT 7.0 is out? Anyone? Dying to check it out, but I can't afford to be down, either. :)

Just curious if your are using any of the expansion packs....deluxe,xfl, or 8bit or just the stock bfd...also were you able to get the multi outs functional? Thanks for your reply...I'm really interested in getting a Receptor to run BFD but want to make sure all my ducks are in a row first....maybe you could also respond on performance of bfd in the receptor...ie clicks, pops, etc which seem to plague it running on a PC or MAC unless you have alot of RAM and a super fast machine.

Thanks Again!

i have 1.2gb installed (just one extra gb installed from stock) and I hafta say, it works pretty damn nicely. No expansion packs, but I don't know why that would be any different...of course, I dont know a LOT of things. No clicks, no pops...just what the doctor ordered.

As far as multi outs, I have only installed the BFD stereo plug...eventually Ill get around to the multis.

Good luck, Im sure there are others who can chime in.

I have successfully installed BFD and BFD/XFL, however I the GUI editor will not let me select a drum kit! Whhen I mouse over the "Drum Kit Selector Button" it depresses but will not display drum kits!?

Has Receptor gone any further with BFD? It installs OK, but does not work properly!

News October 7,2005 - '"NOTE: The installer for BFD is NOT yet available on Plugorama. We hope to have it released very soon." 7 months ago and still waiting. I've bought the BFD standard months ago, and stacked up with RAM on suggestion from Plugorama support, but nothing is happening! I'm getting quite tired of it all. Any news?? :x
