Well on Hannafih case is a professional basher with sitckies et al.
I thing at C.net he applied for king and all he got was the same he gots everywhere... not even a lowsy Tshirt. Posting photos... hu! that's personal! this goes beyond not having fun\things done in the pute... that's pure RAW redneck hate... it couldn't be toward a piece of code... well done H, you get sadder by the second just like good old DX.

Excuse me but Charlie Steinberg still appears on Cubase credits.

Waves plugs, just to name one company, have always worked better in DX form. Until ver.5, they also sounded better

about sound quality if true, it would be reallly stupid, unless they screwed something in the Waveshell code. But DX or VST is just an application library / transport interface, it has virtually nothing to do with sound quality.

About the support them or not... my opinion : they served well in the past, now let'em die and RIP with honour.

on topic, It will be interesting if steinberg implements an "option". that should help, but steinberg has imho progressively gotten worse since sx2 time

clearly not a cubase user - you cant automate dx plugs in cubase

in order to have the old projects you must have the old sequencer - so you can obviously open them easily enough - and if there really is a reasoj to open it in the newer one, open it in the old sequencer replace the dx plugs with the vst wrapper - re save - job done

takes less time than whining on a forum about nothing much in particular

no current dx plugs will work in a 64 bit app on a 64 bit os - it's dead OK

I forgot about that(former Nuendo user until 2.0).

That's a workaround for some, but not some who have large running projects.

Thanks to all who have posted replies regarding Hosts with/without DX support ……….so we have Steinberg and Ableton who do not support it so far.

Huh?

Ableton never supported it in the first place - they certainly didn't "ditch" it in the way that Steinberg have! For that matter, Tracktion, eXT, and several others do not and have not supported DX.

what ? opening it in the sequencer where they started it - thats not a work around - thats just good sense
