They're owned by LOUD Technologies, who own ALOT (Ampeg, Crate, Yairi, Tapco, EAW etc) - I doubt they're going anywhere anytime soon.
LOUD Technologies site is also down. :?

The whole issue is the worse side of "c/r" scheme. Hopefully in event of Mackie failure a ***** will show. But perhaps it's just a web redesign now?

Nobody from mackie explaining this situation here. :(
Perhaps Mackie staff work Monday to Friday like most of the rest of the country?

The webserver sucks - it's sucked for as long as I've been using it. This is, annoying, but it isn't a new and scary development.

Bitch about Mackie's flaky web hosting, sure, but please quit bitching that Beno isn't reading this forum 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Do you stand outside supermarkets at midnight, and fret that they have gone out of business cos someone turned the lights out?

Which is the supossed office openning hours then?

Just for fun, why does everyone assume that "Mackie is owned by X is owned by Y is owned by Z" means that they're not going anywhere? LOUD isn't gonna collapse, but it's not like they're surgically attached to Mackie products (which they could dump the instant it was profitable).

I thought the point of a website is it is 24/7! There is no point having to make users logon to activate software and then not be able to logon - that's just stupid.

So just theoretically for a moment, if $teinberg does indeed own Mackie, and Tracktion can easily be considered direct competition for Cubase, what's stopping them from adapting some of the strong features from T into SX and then cutting T?

Or was it just a joke?...

People were joking.
