First, Squids is Dave Kerzner: check this link http://www.sonicreality.com/company.php

So, he doesn't work FOR IK he works WITH IK. He also works with NI and Propellerheads and a number of others.

He is also a principal in http://esoundz.com.

So you might want to re-think the "what do you know about business" remarks.
...and I happen to have a business degree from Harvard. (no not really but wouldn't that be so perfect of a response? ).

You're right, I am not going to answer ALL of that, especially defending attacks against me. I simply have my opinion and never did I say I was the ultimate business expert or anything like that so... I am learning to just leave that stuff alone! None of this should be personal.

But, let me clarify what I meant by missing the deadline. Hey, believe me I am the LAST person to enjoy the harsh reality of missing out on a promotion. I have a knack for waiting to the last minute to send in my rebates and all kinds of stuff I miss out on because it isn't my top priority, I'm busy or whatever. I don't like it but I accept it. That said, I usually ask and sometimes beg to get it if I am at least close to the deadline. Sometimes I get it sometimes I don't (talking about me as a consumer). Talking about ME as a small company owner myself, my philosophy is to make the customer happy and bend the rules a bit! When that's realistic to do I am all for it. Most people that know me know that I wouldn't turn down someone who was close to the deadline on something on esoundz or from SR (guys, have I ever?). But, IK is a much bigger company than SR or esoundz and a lot of things like registrations auto-qualifying for limited time free downloadable upgrades are managed on a higher level dealing with thousands more people. So those cut-off dates aren't as easy to play around with as other offers where a human can say "oh alright here". Therefore it falls back on the whole "snooze you lose" reality. I don't want you to think that this is MY philosphy. Far from it! But, it is just a reality of promotions from any company really. There are time frames for offers and one has to try to take advantage of it within that time frame as best they can! I almost regret being the one to bring that up if it makes me look like the evil bastard who invented that concept! I'm not! I too wish it weren't that way as a consumer myself. But it is with most large companies and for understandable reasons. It was pretty generous and even rare to have offered it as a free upgrade at all too though let's not forget. But, bittersweet for anyone who missed the window of opportunity for sure. That's understandbale too.

But, anyway, there's no point in going back and forth on this. Hopefully there's no animosity. Nothing to defend. You're right! You have your opinion, I have mine and that is life! Best of luck to you and your music making!

Hey, fellow KVRians, you KNOW this thread could not be 300+ pages long and be without the usual drama! Isn't it like deja vu sometimes? lol Those who have seen me in threads where this happens have had the opportunity to see my developing style. Maybe when I was first here I would go BALLISTIC defending every line. This is in 2001? Now in 2006 I am like "hey man, peace and love, all good, let's be calm and rational man" (in the Dude from The Big Lebowski voice).

So, anyway, are we going for a record with this thread or what? How many pages is the number one in the stats? I think it's time I had a look at that page just for fun. I think I speak for all developers (that post was funny btw) that I think all of us would like to have a thread that says "insert your product here - ships this month" and get 160,000 views with 300+ pages. I am surprised there wasn't a Guitar Rig thread actually. Not nearly as much controversy I guess! First there was the girl (which we all seem to have forgotten). Too slutty (although, guys have you checked out Guitar One magazine or Guitar World? It's practically STUFF or Maxim at this point!!!! ). Then there was the release date, then there was opinions about the dongle and no demo version... finally after 300 pages there's no slutty girl (sorry Natasha, I thought you were nice and I have no problem with Swedish models myself), there's no dongle and there IS a demo version for everyone to try out for themselves!!!! Oh and it has long since been released so yeah the title of this thread IS misleading as CPTgone said. ;) I wonder if anyone reads this and thinks it was JUST released this month!

Oh and Amberience, you're right. One of, not THE leader. Although I think they were definitively the first bass amp manufacturer. Not a 100% sure on that though.

You know what? We like very much that laid back Squids that looks more relaxed and professional, although as opportunistic as ever...not that there is anything wrong with that. Can we keep him? :)

I think relatif to its age, this thread breaks all the records on KVR. But overall it comes second in terms of replies and views. The first in terms of views is midiman's neverending story about that amplisim plugin who's release date keep on changing a heck lot more than a sitcom character can throw the N word at a comedy club.

LOL, that is a good resume of the 300 pages. Brings good old memories of last white christams when my last day before going on christmas holidays was celebrated by listening to the first posts of the Amplitube 2 sound demos on iKMM's website, and sleeping tight that night thinking to myself "AT2 will be released this month". Of course as history goes, we got bomboozled by iKMM yet for another 4 months, and this thread kept going on and on like an Energizer bunny.

You know, sometimes I loose sleep at night thinking that I am misleading people with that thread title...I sometimes sleep with one eye open, afraid of repercussions....Unfortunatly I already took a big risk by changing the initial title once and this is a risk I am unwilling to take a second time.

This thread is now like a journey that has no destination, flying on wings of bastrami. It is the culmunation of wicked thoughts and profuze hopes and dreams shattered and battered by the italian corportation.

A call for help, a call for joy, a call for hope.

God bless you all, and God bless the three exclammation points.

I have no idea what you are talking about but... it's your thread so as long as you're happy! Hey, it's not like things didn't happen in the people's favor. No more half naked girl, no dongle and now there's a downloadable demo version, standalone, UB support and SpeedTrainer on top... all for no additional cost. Not too bad at all!

Oh and yes I am the chill mellow opportunist for sure. KVR for me is half fun and half part of my business but that's the whole thing about developers here where KVR is the official home of their company forum and how we communicate with the users of software and sounds. I am always grateful to be accepted as part of the community, tolerated for my salesman side but appreciated for my "I'm a musician too dude" side as well. Actually, I say "tolerated" but the sales stuff I've done around here HAS helped a lot of people out and gave people some informed buying decision food for thought which is always nice. More companies should have representatives who know their products or related company's products (or even just products they carry in their shop) inside and out available to people to talk about them, get people excited about them and answer questions.

Back on topic a bit for me. Can one of you FLS users confirm that A2 is or isn't working properly with the latest beta? It's driving me nuts. I've rebooted, checked drivers, confirmed that other FX work fine in the same slot in the same project, etc. But I still get no processing out of A2.

What do you mean? Are you accusing us of going off topic? ( we would never do that in this thread )

Shane, did you try contacting IKMM or FruityLoops support? I am pretty sure that they are interrested in these kind of incompatibilities. Even if you have no other confirmation, do it anyways since it is an issue on your machine. Like this you will be helping all future IKMM/FL users if the two respective companies fix that bug.

Well, I did look on LoopTalk just to see if someone had complained. It worked fine before and now it doesn't. I just wanna know if I'm the only one. Nothing has changed in FLS between the version of A2 that worked and the version that doesn't work, so it's not FLS per se. It's gotta either be A2 or something I've done to my computer or soundcard.
