Hey guys,

So I want to install Kontakt 2 onto my receptor...so I go to Plugorama and I see that the installer up on plugorama states:
IMPORTANT: Due a problem with the v2.1.1 installer you will not be able to authorize Kontakt 2 on your Receptor if you are not upgrading from an existing v2.0 installation. Consequently if you haven't already installed and authorized Kontakt 2.0 on your Receptor you must first download, install and authorize Kontakt v2.0 and then install the v2.1.1 update. Sorry for the inconvenience - we are working on a permanent fix. You must be logged in to access the installer.
I just need a little clarification on this. I have KONTAKT 2 already authorized and installed on my host computer but NOT ON MY RECEPTOR. I now want to install it onto my receptor. My confusion lies in thinking that I need an older "installer" version for the RECEPTOR before I use this available "updated installer" v.2.1.1. Is this correct or can I just go ahead and install the new updated installer onto my Receptor because I have authorized KONTAKT 2 on my host computer?

More to the point....if I need this older "installer" prior to using the updated installer v.2.1.1... why can't I find it on Plugorama? I've looked all over the site. Someone please clear the air for me! I know I am missing something! :help:

Also, as I'm sure you are aware of....KONTAKT 2 itself is now at 2.2...not 2.1.1, so I am curious if you guys have heard anything about another update?

Thanks for your time and sorry if it is confusing...I am a bit confused at the moment.

Hey it sounds to me that you need to get your hands on the v2.0 installer and put that in first. Im not sure if you can get a second licence free from Native Instruments to put on your receptor, or if there is a fee in crossgrading and obtaining a second licence key. Maybe open a support ticket at Plugorama. They are very fast with replys (I got a reply a few days before Christmas about 1 minute after I sent the email!) May be better than waiting for a response from NI as they can take a long time to reply from what I have heard.

If you are logged in at Plugorama the Kontakt 2.0 installer download should be visible instead of the "You must be logged in to access the installer" text. You do need to install this on your Receptor first as Kontakt being authorized on your computer is irrelevant to Receptor (it doesn't know this).

As for the 2.2 update, I know the guys in engineering are shooting to have Komplete 4 ready ASAP, which should pave the way for newer NI updates. I'm not privy to the expected release date though :(

Hey guys thanks for the responses.

To c3boy: Yes Native is horrible with getting back to you! I'm gonna call Muse Research today and just ask them. As far as I know I should be able to install KONTAKT 2 on the Muse with no additional fee. If there is an additional fee...I'm gonna be :bang: :x

To Ben - I'm sorry if I wasn't clear on this....to repost:

"....if I need this older "installer" prior to using the updated installer v.2.1.1... why can't I find the old installer on Plugorama? I've looked all over the site. Someone please clear the air for me! I know I am missing something!"

I was completely logged in. When I try to find the older "KONTAKT 2 installer" on Plugorama (when logged in)....I can't find it ANYWHERE. I don't think its up there. So if you can find it...let me know where...I'm all ears. This is what is so confusing to me...on the one hand they give you this really important message saying that you need a previous version installed and then on the other there is no link to get the previous version? ----- Which also led me to think that maybe I didn;t need the previous version because I already had it authorized on my host computer? --- Anyway...Hope that somehow clarifies things...I'll be talking to Muse in a couple hours...its 10:40 East Coast time...so I need to wait a bit.

Thanks for your time

Hi neosource,

I've just checked it. When logged in the text that you quoted in your first post:
IMPORTANT: Due a problem with the v2.1.1 installer you will not be able to authorize Kontakt 2 on your Receptor if you are not upgrading from an existing v2.0 installation. Consequently if you haven't already installed and authorized Kontakt 2.0 on your Receptor you must first download, install and authorize Kontakt v2.0 and then install the v2.1.1 update. changes to :

Consequently if you haven't already installed and authorized Kontakt 2.0 on your Receptor you must first download, install and authorize Kontakt v2.0 and then install the v2.1.1 update. Sorry for the inconvenience - we are working on a permanent fix. Download the Kontakt 2.0 installer here
With Download the Kontakt 2.0 installer here being the link to the file.

Does that not happen for you?

I can confirm that there is no additional cost. It's user installable plug-in.

Hey Ben!

Thanks man. I see what you are saying...you made the connection for me!!! Unless they put that link up today (which I'm sure they didn't)...I was just completely missing it...as I thought I might be! You're right...I wasn't logged in at first and then when I was logged in... for whatever reason...being flustered...anxious etc....I didn't put 2 + 2 together that it was a link to the older version of the installer staring me right in the face in place of the other login message!

My bad and thanks! 8)
