The upgrade will be a boxed version so it's just a case of prodding your local music store to carry or order the box for you.

That's not exactly good news for overseas customers.valley wrote:The upgrade will be a boxed version so it's just a case of prodding your local music store to carry or order the box for you.

If it works like last time, there will be a mail-in rebate. I'm wondering if they will do the same this time. Maybe then you can buy through audiomidi or samash.com or something and still get it?

I think Graeme's point is that if it works like last time, that'd be the worst possible news.koolkeys wrote:If it works like last time, there will be a mail-in rebate.
In fact I think the issues with the rebate are probably why there is a box upgrade rather than a rebate/voucher based upgrade.
Graeme, I imagine that the box upgrade will go much more smoothly than last time. With mail order as an upgrade option now, you should easily be able to get the box from somewhere. Moreover, given that there is clearly a lot more potential money for dealers in T3 than in T2, I'd be much more confident of seeing the box in stores.

There is no mail in rebate. That is why there is a boxed upgrade version. Any Mackie dealer can get it just like any other Mackie product.

So I'm assuming that it will make it easier for those overseas to just buy from any online shop as well if their store doesn't have it, right?

Yes, any user with valid Tracktion 2 or Tracktion 3 license (excluding trial or NFR licenses) that is properly registered under your account on my.mackie.com, will be eligible for the T3 Ultimate bundle upgrade or the T3 online upgrade.

Yes - that really was what Iwas saying.valley wrote:I think Graeme's point is that if it works like last time, that'd be the worst possible news.koolkeys wrote:If it works like last time, there will be a mail-in rebate.
All I know is that it took a long time before T2 became available in Spain (from anyone) and that I couldn't find an online dealer (all in the USA at that time) willing to sell/ship to Spain, presumably because they have territorial agreements with their suppliers. In the end, I had to get a friend in the USA to buy it for me.valley wrote:Graeme, I imagine that the box upgrade will go much more smoothly than last time. If companies want to trade in the 'global market place', then they should also be aware of what conditions might pertain to that market. For example, where I live, there's not a music shop within 100 Km of my house and the 'local' Mackie official outlet is 700 Km!
That's why people like me would prefer to be able to download software, rather than jump through hoops.

I'm not going to want the ultimate bundle...just the upgraded app. If the Project Bundle is $129, will the app-only online upgrade be less than that? And is the core app the same in all editions?Beno wrote:Yes, any user with valid Tracktion 2 or Tracktion 3 license (excluding trial or NFR licenses) that is properly registered under your account on my.mackie.com, will be eligible for the T3 Ultimate bundle upgrade or the T3 online upgrade.
