My guess is no. You wont be able to download a Tracktion install until you've registered your box version, and you wont be able to register it until you've received it.

Yeah, Valley is correct. You will be able to download the demo but you won't be able to unlock it until you get the code from the box.

It's already sort of been said in this very thread:

Once you make changes to a preset, it gets a "*" next to it or the font goes italic (assuming it's non-italic to begin with), or heck, why not both. Then the "preset name" is saved as an additional parameter that gets recalled. Sure, it doesn't do anything (after all, the parameters themselves are also saved, which is the main thing!) but when the project is releaded, this "name" parameter is also recalled (recalling an italicized asterisked name). Just a text string and nothing more. No influence on the parameters, which are stored independently.

I agree that the name is less important than the parameters storing properly, though.

Greg
That would be perfect.
I think that even if you change the settings from a preset you have previously loaded, it's better to have the name of this preset recalled and not the default preset.
What is irritating the way the Mackie plugins work is that when you choose a new preset and changes nothing, when you reopen the song, you have lost the name of this preset, and you have the name of the default preset instead with an asterix. It's not logical at all because this way you can think that the default preset has been altered, but it's not the case : you have used another preset and have not altered it.
I you want an example of a plugin that is behaving fine, look at the Luxonix Ravity(S) : it also show an asterix when you alter a preset, but recall the name of the preset you have altered and show the asterix when you reopen your song.

Is there by any chance an option now to copy the source file into the project folder when importing? I've shot myself in the foot more than once by moving/archiving/deleting audio files that were needed for T projects...
i hate people when they're hard to light

Yes T3 can always copy, never copy, or ask you each time what to do when importing.

No sorry. Its really something we want to do. To be honest there isn't a huge reason it isn't there already short of not enough typing time. Soon hopefully.

If I wan't to render tracks into the project do I now have the option to only render between the markers in T3? Or will I still have to render the whole track or export import externally?

Post

You mean beyond what the "export" function allows you to do? I'd be curious to know what the end goal is, before I can say definitively that "export" will do it. Is one independent of the master bus? You could always disable the master bus temporarily if that's the case.

If I want' to render a track within tracktion (ie; render into project directory) and only render 8bars for example, at the moment you have to render the whole track length. I would have thought "Render Marked Region" would be logical.

Post

er... hasn't that feature always been there? (only rendering between I and O markers - there's an option for this when you export)
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.
