HI, I just got into vst amp modeling. I recorded a dist pedal direct, put on Chimp, I'm loving it! Got my eye on this thread.

ditto that one. Some clean Fender tones would be great like a Fender Twin, A Fender Super Reverb, A Fender Bassman. And from reading the posts looks like you'll be doing some serious work listening to and modeling amps. Might as well add in a Roland JC-120 to that.fep wrote:ditto that one. Some clean Fender tones would be great like a Fender Twin, A Fender Super Reverb, A Fender Bassman. my requests:
- more versatile noise gate, perhaps with lookahead-option...
- better dynamic response with High Gain(though i'm afraid this is a question of preamping
..)
- Noise reduction (?)
but this does mean, it is already a great plug

My request would simply be a better mechanism for selecting presets. Currently I frequently have to wait to scroll through a drop menu to find a preset I want.
Thanks for all of your hard work on this product. It is a great benefit to many.

If you look on my site I have a plugin on the Effects page named "GatePlus" that will become FA3's new gate? Let me know what you think of it?

You asked, but it still kicks ass as is now. My wishlist:
1 - a thing called 'manual' into the package, eg. we had huge problems at the studio to make the autowah work properly on FA2 (=still haven't found a way).
2 - soft/hard knee option to the compressors, possibly attack/release knobs (and auto button for them ones who don't know how to use the compressor) and visible number what the ratio position represents, like 1:1.5, 1:2, 1:4, 1:8 etc. a digital display perhaps?
3 - Better feedback/sustain simulator
4 - To make the gate more versatile, add these options to the gate (eg. dbx 1074 and older version 274 have these options): Threshold (volume), Hold (time), Release (time), Expand (on/off), Ratio (slow/fast) + leds "open" "hold" "limit".
5 - put the things on different tabs/subpages so it wont look so crowded. and one tab for presetgroups and presets in general
6 - say 10 area graphic EQ or even full parametric one?
7 - possibility to choose the order of the pedals
8 - I wonder if it would be better to make the pedals not look like pedals, but rack-units instead and make the rack-area scrollable to save space?
9 - tuner (and possibly a tune tone with A, A# and Ab possibilities)
10 - tremolo with more visibility, took me a month to see it was there
11 - a hi-pass filter with adjustable frequency from 30-300hz = just a reminder that the bass player is not in the band because he has a van
12 - pingpong stereo-sweep
13 - pitchshifter/detuner
14 - co-operation with sir for ultimate guitar reverb? *drools*
15 - some "space-effects" like on korgs pandoras box
16 - the amount of distortion would be dependable on the amount of input signal like in the real amplifier (if you play lightly with medium distortion, the sound will/might not be distorted almost at all). this could be made via same kind of algorithm as compressors: treshold and ratio. but please put an auto option for the dumb ones again
17 - wet/dry mixer
18 - channel A and channel B that can be changed via midi on the fly (like real amps) or so that they could be possibly mixed in the output. like: a wet 35%; b wet 45%; dry 20%
19 - but you could also add some smooth bass booster (exciter/enhancer?) to compensate the #11
20 - phase inverter that could be added anywhere, because a lot of effects can cause a lot of phase-errors
21 - you could ask real guitarists to make some really cool presets for the plugin. This would just be a major bonus, nothing more. And a good wah-wah -preset for bass(?!?) would be appriciated
22 - If you can manage to make a sound with your plugin that makes the bass sound like this (see references), I will bow down to you

Just for the record, I disagree with the points listed above for various reasons. One thing I really like about FA/FA2 was that you could immediately see every setting just by looking at the screen.ahjteam wrote:

Additionally, having everything super-tweakable makes it harder to get your settings and get down to the business of playing guitar (how many amps have 10-band EQs, and how many have built-in pitch shifters?). While I think it would be nice to have a little more control over the order of effects, I really like how the plugin is currently laid out for the user.
Also, at some point you're adding featuers without making a serious increase in functionality: If there's a displeasure with the plugin b/c it's not tweakable enough, there are plenty of great-sounding plugins out there that can be strung together in chainer or some other such condition to get a more customizable pedalboard. FA2 is nice because it removes a lot of the work. Additionally, with every advanced feature you add, you increase the required CPU load for the plugin, and create more clutter on the screen (regardless of how you layout the plugin).
And in regards to #21, I happen to think the presets provided by not only FrettedSynth, but also the other guitar-playing preset contributors are pretty solid already.
