Hi,
We've received reports some time ago that Muse Research has gotten TruePianos v1.0 to work on the Receptor. It just wasn't known if official support would make it to the v1.6 Receptor software release. That's the latest I know. This info is 2-3 months old and I don't know anything specific about the current v1.6 software status.
They are aware that there is a sizable group of people who want TruePianos on receptor. So I'd suggest to just wait and perhaps cross a finger or two

Has anyone here compared TruePianos with Pianoteq? It's modeled, no samples. Small.
There's a demo at pianoteq.com I've heard it but not TruePianos as I'm on a Mac.

Hi,
I know this doesn't help/clear up the Receptor 'cause' at the moment but the first Mac version (Universal Binary AudioUnit/Standalone) will be released today or tomorrow. A trial version including the 'Diamond module' will be made available at the same time.

I played with the demo of Pianoteq and was impressed. But to be honest, now that the Native Instruments DFD works so well (in Beta 1.6 OS) my interest in this and TruePianos for Receptor is gone. I use TruePianos on my laptop where I can't load/stream multi GB sample libs though.poodlebuild wrote:Has anyone here compared TruePianos with Pianoteq? It's modeled, no samples. Small.

Hi,
I just wouldn't rule out neither TruePianos or Pianoteq. I'm not sure about all the things the Pianoteq guys have planned for the future but I am aware of our own plans. I'm not so sure that within approx half a year there is much of an advantage left for gigabyte large libraries in terms of realism nor choice of type-of-piano sound.

Hi Hibernation, could you please elaborate on what tests you have done with DFD, and what samples you have used. Are you saying that streaming pianos samples is now no longer a problem? no more clicks and glitches? which sample library are you using, is it akoustik piano or some other sample library loaded into Kontakt?Hybernation wrote: I played with the demo of Pianoteq and was impressed. I've installed v1.6 of the Receptor software. Can anyone now walk me through installing TruePianos? Or is this still not supported?
(I've tried dropping the 1.01 DLL into the 'unsupported plugins' folder, but it just resets the Receptor when I try to install.)

I have a Beta OS 1.6 and I cannot install 1.01. I tried both the method above and also running the EXE's from SSH. No luckplechem wrote:I've installed v1.6 of the Receptor software. Can anyone now walk me through installing TruePianos? Or is this still not supported?

Many Thanks,
Also, let me add that once you hear the SampleTekk pianos (White Grand, Black Grand, TBO, Seven Seas, etc) you will likely NEVER load NI's Akoustik Piano again!
Unless you want something that is a little easier on the CPU of course.
