Kontakt 2.2 instruments & Kontakt 2.1 on Receptor

I wanted to use my receptor as a sampler, to play my own samples. So, I got Kontakt and Receptor. The Kontakt version on my installation CD is 2.2. The Receptor version of Kontak is 2.1. Kontakt 2.1 apparently cannot load instruments created on Kontakt 2.2.
So, after I created some sample set-ups in Kontakt on my computer, I found I couldn't load them into the Kontakt on my Receptor. Then, I found out the plug in version of Kontakt cannot use the editing tools, like the mapping and loop editor. So i cannot re-create the setups on Receptor.
I also cannot seem to "backdate" the 2.2 on my computer to 2.1, since the 2.1 update file on the NI website is apparently not a full installation file. (I tried removing the 2.1 installation and installing just the 2.1 update to determine this.)
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

1st of all, I believe that making Receptor able to update plug-ins from major manufacturers (like NI) is the 1st priority for Muse right now, so it shouldn't be too long before you have cross compatability... Possibly 6 to 8 weeks.
2nd ~ if you couldn't use the Loop Editor, or other features on your Receptor version of Kontact 2, you have a problem.
I've done a varitey of Loops, Editing, custom Mapping, and even written a few Scripts ~ directly in Kontact 2.1 on my Receptor via it's GUI.
So I'm not sure why you can't use them.
It is easier to do them on your computer, then drag them over to Receptor, but obviously there is a conflict between 2.1 & 2.2 in Kontact (which also doesn't make sence to me)
I'm assuming these are 'legitimate' versions, right?
You should contact NI and explain your situation, see if they'll send you a temporary 2.1 version, until Muse sorts out it's Plug-In updating situation...
That's what I would do, if I were in your situation...
Good luck

Thanks for your quick reply, JV. You are right, this was simply operator error. I've only had my Receptor for a couple weeks, and just set up Kontak 2 days ago, so I am still learning.
After I got your post, I went back and tried to do it again. I found out the loop editor and mapping editor work fine in receptor. The problem is, when you click on the little arrow on the right to get the pop up editor, it says "not available in plug in version." being a moron, I thought this meant the editor was not available, when its just the pop-up that's not available. I didn't try clicking on the larger button on the left. Doh!
So, you have solved my problem by making me look at it again. Thanks! Time to get to work.

PS: Of course I have legitmate software. Probably spent twice what I spent on the Receptor on software already. This looks like it will be an expensive addiction.

Native Instruments broke backwards compatibility between 2.1->2.2.0 and then again between 2.2.0->2.2.1
This is the same for all Kontakt versions (including the library-specific Player versions).

I've been having problems with the loop editor in Kontakt on Receptor. It crashes the system every time i try to use the snap functions. So i thought i would just do it on the computer but found that it also crashes the computer when i do this! Also had strange issues like multis loading up with the wrong instrument names. Although they play the right sounds theyre labelled as something from another multi. It goes away if i just reload the multi. Also Kontakt often crashes when i try and delete instruments. If a dialog pops up saying "Really remove so-and-so patch?" then its gonna crash. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesnt. Hate to say it, but Kontakt is complately unreliable here!

Hi gang
Like Jay Vee, new NI plugs are our #1 priority. That includes the Kontakt 2.2 update, which from what I hear from Rick, is a massive (no pun intended) improvement over 2.0 and 2.1...
We are in beta test for Komplete 4 (which includes Kontakt 2.2) and we should have the update for K2.2 ready as soon as beta is completed.
Thanks for your patience.
